Hi I am a member of the group and I have been following the thread for a while now. Absolutely love how much you guys are helping us here by tough love and no nonsense advice. Thought it was time I mustered courage to ask
About me: I am 134 now, hovering between 132-134 since May. Have never been able to go below that, no matter what I tried so far. Eating less, (<1200), eating more, 1600 for about 2 weeks may be,working out, not working out at all... just eating normal, or only proteins and fruits.
I am totally frustrated and don't know what I am doing anymore.
I am a vegetarian (eat eggs though) and cook all our family's meals @ home, may be eat out once a week
Provide your stats (height/weight/age/bodyfat% if you know it/etc)
I am 5' 4"/134/32/female/25% bf
What's your current gross intake of calories, on average?
I was using a different tracker before and recently started tracking here. 1250 calories, give or take, and eating back about 1/2 of workout calories.
What's your current average intake of protein, carbs, and fats, in grams? (GRAMS, not percent!)
90g-p,140gC,50g F avg
Do you use a food scale and measure everything?
I don't use a food scale, but measure everything but for the spices and salt
Do you track all of your intake, daily? (Everything?)
I track most my meals and I do munch in the evenings sometimes. I try not to go crazy with it.
Do you take cheat days or days off?
No, but I slack in tracking mostly on weekends
How much weight have you lost so far and over what time period?
I was overweight all my life. I was 160lbs till 2009. after my daughter was born in 2009, I started running with my husband's help and lost weight with some tracking and knowledge about portions.
I got down to 136 in 2011. Since then I reached 127 once in 2012 end, but have not been able to manage that.
I am 134 now.
Describe your activity (exercise and non exercise) and did you change that activity withing the last couple of months?
I continue to run. I have stopped in the last 2 weeks, getting frustrated but I run 5-6m 3X and do some body weight workouts 2X (ST with dumbbells, burpees mountain climbers, squats etc)
so I workout 5 days a week, I work full time at a desk job and have a busy time @ home looking after my 4.5yr old daughter and cooking n cleaning.
How long have you been stalled and if it is not a complete stall please be very specific as to how much you have lost over the stalled period.
I am the same weight 132-134 since May.
Are you breastfeeding? No
Do you have thyroid issues/risks or PCOS? No

Ok thanks for opening your diary.
Given your information and given your recently beginning to use MFP, we would like you to take the following steps:
1) Read this.
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/872212-you-re-probably-eating-more-than-you-think
2) Please get a digital food scale and use it at every opportunity for the next two weeks.
3) Please leave your intake as is for two weeks and at the 2 week mark (10/27 assuming you can start using your food scale tomorrow) please send me a PM on this site to unlock this thread (we will lock it after you confirm or reject this advice). At that point, (10/27) you will reply in this thread with an update to see if there has been any change.
The reason we are "leaving you as is" and assigning the food scale (in addition to reading the above link which may potentially point out ways to increase logging accuracy) is so we can establish a data set to work from that we know is accurate and that we can see in myfitnesspal.
If you have any issues before the 2 week follow up, please PM either myself or Sarauk2sf.
Reply here to confirm, or to politely decline and we will close the thread.
Best of luck!0 -
Hi SS,
Thanks a lot for the update. I wont be able to start today, but I will start sometime this week and buy the food scale right away.
I will be traveling to Disney from 21st - 30th, so food won't be best or on my terms. I will try my best to not at least gain more weight.
I confirm, but will be starting 2 weeks from Nov 1st. I will track all my eating best until then, but not sure I can do 2 weeks of continuous tracking until Nov 1st.
You can have the tread locked until Nov 1st and I will PM you when I get back and ready.
Is that ok?0 -
I read the article by the way, and see I could use many of them. Do you have any recommendation for food scale?
Thanks!0 -
I am back from vacation. Want to get back to tracking and working on progress now. Please check my diary and give me suggestions0

I'm not sure what you need as far as suggestions go. The suggestion we made was to leave your intake as is but use a food scale to measure your intake, and record everything. Whether or not I say "eat eggs" or "eat chicken" or "eat raisins" isn't relevant provided you are able to hit your targets choosing foods you prefer eating. The only general recommendation I would make would be to eat mostly whole and nutrient dense foods and limit your discretionary/junk food intake to about 20% of total calories or so.0 -

Any digital one that has a tare (zero) function is best.0 -
ok. I am leaving my intake as is and check back with you. I got a digital scale and I am measuring everything now. and for the 1 week before vacation.0
