Advice? Crossfit style?

So... I currently lift weights 2-3 times per week. All compound movements... squats, deadlifts, step ups, push ups, pull ups, ect. I also do cardio when I can. I try to get an INSANITY workout in once or twice and do long walks with my husband other days. Occasionally we go for a longer run together just for enjoyment.

Here's the thing... I am looking to mix things up a bit. I'm getting a little bored with my lifting schedule. I don't have the money to join a crossfit gym at this time. I was looking online a bit at the "at home" workouts. My husband told me that it's probably not true crossfit workouts and might be a waste of time. Would someone peek and tell me your thoughts? Would these be worth my time?

Also, I'm not used to getting a workout done in 20 minutes. 40 minutes is my typical workout.

Thoughts are appreciated. Here are the links to the different plans.

Honestly this looks pretty good and I may steal some of these. Aside from the 200 lb deadlifts and other heavier stuff, it's pretty close to a typical CF WOD.

You could always go to crossfit.com for the daily wods they post.

Awesome! Thanks everyone. I'll check those sites out too. Do you all do crossfit as your only workout? I was thinking to do it a few days per week and do other things (run, lift) when I feel like it! Thoughts?

This looks neat, I will check this out, thanks for the link. :)

I have a regular gym membership and try to go once a week to do the similar type of exercises you mentioned. I've been simultaneously fascinated and terrified of Crossfit due to horrible experiences with yelling PE teachers in 4th grade and some really terrible hip problems, so doing it at home might be a better option! Although, she says "No equipment!" in her header, but this apparently requires kettlebells and a few other things. Hmm. Might have to scour Craigslist to see if I can find some.

Glad you like it. I'm excited to give it a try. Like I said I need to mix I up a bit. Thankfully I have some equiptment but craigslist is a great idea. Why didn't I think of that?

I did crossfit for a bit over 1 year consistent. Although I only went twice a week to supplement grappling, judo and kickboxing. It's been about three months almost four since I've been at the box. It can get expensive. :(

VERY expensive. That's why I was looking into "decent" programs to use at home. I like the idea and philosophy behind it, just not the cost. If I had the extra money, I would join!

I like the workouts she posts on her blog! I also look on Pintrest and get allot of good WOD workouts there! I have never gone to a box though so I don't know in comparison! Also look into WOD daily!
