Green Smoothie & Carbs!

I eat a Green Smoothie every morning which consists of a green vegetable (normally spinach & cilantro) & a fruit (normally apple and banana).

Today my smoothie was:
3 cups of Kale
1.5 banana
cilantro
lemon juice
2.5 apples
Blended together with water.

My question: The total grams of carbs is about 91 & while I know these are "good" carbs, am I over doing it with my carb intake?! I only have 62 left for the day which I'm sure to go over!

150g carbs for the day seems quite low. Do you allow for 40% of your total calories to be carbs, then 30% each of protein and fat?
Even if your carb intake was higher (mine is 232g for 2315 calories), having around half of your carbs in one meal, especially when it's all high GI carbs, seems like it would make the rest of your day quite difficult!! Also ~4 pieces of fruit all at once is a lot and would surely send your blood sugar sky high.. I used to have green smoothies for breakfast every day and ensured I didn't have more than 2 pieces at a time but bulked it up with more green veggies like boy choy, zucchini, cucumber, etc...
Do you have anything else along with the smoothie, something low GI to slow the absorption of all the fruit?

Sorry for the delay. It didn't alert me that someone responded!!

My Goal is 45/20/35 but it's normally 48-50 in carbs, 18-25 fat and 25-30 protein, depending on the day. I'm having a hard time eating my 1800 calories a day because my doc has me on a 20% fat diet with 7g of saturated fat & 1500mg of sodium a day! It's hard to eat that many calories without going over. I normally eat around 1600 so that is why my carbs are lower.

I do not eat anything with my green smoothie. Friend me if you like & take a look at my diary. It's open to friends only. Tell me what you think!

I haven't looked at your diary yet, but if you're worried that you'll go over your carbs during the course of the day (which is highly likely with only 60g for grains, veggies, fruit, etc) then like I said I'd just cut back on the fruit in the smoothie and maybe have it as part of your breakfast, rather than your whole breakfast :)

You can choose fruits that are lower in carbs too. Bananas are pretty high, berries are much lower. It's good to get different varieties in your diet too and enjoy all those antioxidants. I like to prep my fruit and keep it in ziplock bags in the freezer. Then I can measure out the amount of fruit I want and combine different flavors without going crazy with it. Today I had strawberries, honeydew melon and blueberries but because I weighed it out I was able to control how many carbs I had.
