Periods coming back after starting exercise

Before I started exercising my period cycles were every 2 - 5 months. Being almost 50 I was glad things were starting to wind down. Since I started my exercise program they are coming every 3 weeks. Most annoying. Anyone else have this happen? Or am I just a freak?

I took birth control pills for my entire reproductive life - with the exception of a few years when I tried unsuccessfully to get pregnant. So, my periods were always regular. Once I went off the pill a year ago, I had one light period and nothing since. So, I can't speak to your situation, but it could simply be a coincidence. During peri-menopause our cycles change (so they tell me, cuz I was always on the pill). I've know several ladies who's periods got closer together and heavier as they got closer to ending altogether. I'm sure it's frustrating as heck to try tracking periods when you aren't sure what to expect. I think I wore panty liners every day for almost a year after stopping the pill, becuase I didn't trust my body not to start bleeding at an inconvenient time!

Yes, my cycles have been jumping around. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 they went anywhere from 14 to 56 days. In 2013 I have had one in January, February, July, Sept, and now two in October. This month was the first time since 2009 that I had two cycles back to back with the same number of days. Sometimes I bleed like I stuck pig, other times I merely spot. Haven't been on the pill. I had my tubes tied in 1995.

Anyway, I hope my body finishes up soon. Most annoying . . . .
