I also am new to keto, need to lose about 120 total. It's good your starting young. I was diagnosed with DM-II about 4 years ago and am just now starting to do something about it. I have, as of today, completed the first 2 weeks of induction and have been maintaining my carbs below 20g/day. I plan on continuing this pattern for an extended period of time, however, to be successful in the long run, I now need to increase my options of available foods w/o increasing carbs.

It's definitely doable to increase the variety of foods w/o increasing carbs. Check out my diary it's open. I even had pizza yesterday & kept my carbs under 20g. (The pizza crust from FatHead's blog is awesome!)

There's a lot of keto-friendly recipe blogs. Here's some examples

    Hope this helps!
