Hey all..... I have been having some problems lately trying to get my protein in everyday. I know that I should be getting 15-17 oz , or anywhere from 80-166 gms. but most days I'm not getting that close, and it seems that all I'm doing is eating. Any suggestions? I am in my 1st week of OWL... thanks Kat :)

I think you're fine - I'd actually stick with the low side if that target.

I use this calculator for setting my targets and I usually just go with the low end of the recommendations. My current protein target is 85 g per day.

You'd go with the higher end of the range if you are very active - especially doing strength training.

a bunch of us use the keto calculator so I endorse it. you can always add protein to your diet if you feel you're short. a good whey shake will help.

I think they say aim for .6-.8 gm protein per lb of body weight, I go with .6.
  • Once again, very good advice by Kira.

Personally, I am operating at a pretty hefty calorie deficit (after exercise) and am trying to perserve my LBM, so I pay particular attention to consuming enough protein. Although I am in keto, I consume a higher percentage of fat vs. protein that most of the keto folks around here due to my goals
