The Sufferfest?

Anyone else use a trainer in the winter and do the Sufferfest videos? I just discovered them a few months ago and love them. Right now I am on day two of the "Tour of Sufferlandria" which is 12 videos over 9 days.
Just wondering if there are any other Sufferlandrians here on MFP?
(If you have no clue what I am going on about, check out thesufferfest.com )

I may be a sufferlandrian, but I'm not doing the tour0

I started the tour but work commitments got in the way.
Love the Sufferfest videos, though. It's actually gotten to the point where I prefer riding indoors now (okay, that may change in the summer, but at the moment it's certainly true).
I like all of them but the most commonly used seem to be Revolver, Downward Spiral and Angels. They pretty much cover everything.0 -
I also love the Sufferfest. My favorite is "Angels" both for the ride and the sound track. My second favorite is "The Hunted." I own most of them now and mix them up but I ride to the two previously mentioned DVD's most of the time. The club I belong to has regular indoor group Sufferfests at a local gym but I ride at home. Riding alone at home allows me to believe that I'm doing well with my training. Going to the group sufferfests would only serve to crush my ego and feelings of self worth...

So I have all the sufferfest videos but winter can get a bit long. Anyone know of any other videos that are similar? I saw a sample of the spinercize and thought they were a waste. Maybe the sample I saw was not typical but watching a bunch of people on trainers with someone walking around talking to them just didn't inspire me to ride. My favorites are the Blender and the new one ISLAGIATT.0

You can get Sufferfest Vid's on Strava Premium now (on your mobile device...)0

I already have all them on my iPad so I stream them to the 36" TV in my office and that makes watching them easier. However, I was looking for similar videos and can't find anything quite like them. Some have cadence and intensity but none have the great commentary like on the Sufferfest videos. It really does make indoor riding a lot more enjoyable. Notice I didn't say fun. :-)0

Ooooo that's good to know Cloggsy, as I can get them on my tablet then and hook it up via HDMI to my telly and away I go. Although they do sound a bit evil..... (think it's the suffer word!!)0 -
I want them but I can't afford them I managed to get some Spinervals for free and sweet jebus are they a snooze fest!0

Friend of mine did 10 Sufferfest sessions back-to-back for charity.
Yes, she is certifiably insane.0 -

Holly Shamoly!! Seriously? 10 back to back? Tell your friend I have a lot of respect for anyone that can do 3 back to back. She was just elevated to God-like status! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:0 -
Crazily, I've never considered indoor training in the winter. We have some days where riding is impossible, but our weather here in Oregon is mild enough that it doesn't make a big difference in my routine. I may have to check this out and see if I can get it going on my iPad while at the gym.0

This is a good idea, and the word "suffer" does sound intimidating! I was actually looking at Sufferfest last night , and would like to try one out for future snow days. Any thoughts on which session I should look into? I ride about 2 or more days a week, from 1-3 hrs.0 -

Tell me about it. All for Wateraid. And she drank some water that day, I'll tell you!0 -
Phytogurl - are you more into TT, racing, or climbing. They have videos to help with each or videos like the Blender that work on all of it. Blender and ISLAGIATT are my two favorites.0

I would probable say climbing, TT (time trials?) and endurance. Thanks for the suggestions...I'll check them out!0 -

My dad used to say there were three rings to marriage. The engagement ring, the wedding ring and the suffer ring. :bigsmile:0 -
I just pulled the road bike indoors and hooked it up to the trainer. I've started using the sufferfest videos with the trainer road application. Makes the indoor training a lot less boring. I'm going to also try out streaming netflix while I use trainer road so I can watch movies... I need something that can go on for an hour at a time and keep my mind off of the monotony..0

I'm not too far north of you, pretty much same story here. The SufferFest looks like delightful misery, for sure, but when going out on a trail is just a matter of throwing on a couple of wicking layers and a wind/waterproof outer, it's a tough sell!0 -
This is what it looks like around here already so indoor cycling or a snow bike are a must around here. Welcome to Glacier National Park.0
