Looking into a windows 7 or 8 laptop... Would you rather buy new or refurbished ?

I would only buy refurbished if I REALLY trusted the company. Maybe check out Newegg's refurbished line. You won't need a whole lot if you aren't playing anything other than the types of games you listed.
