Protein Grams

I had a laprascopic sleeve gastrectomy six weeks ago, and my nutritionist advised me to track grams of protein, not calories. When I go to change goals, it tells me a percentage. How do I calculate this based on a daily goal of 68 grams protein?

You keep trying different percentages until it populates something close to the 68 grams a day. Just remember that it will change the other percentages as well so there is still a total of 100%. Maybe you care, maybe you don't lol Just a watch out for ya.

MFP sets a really low percentage for protein, and way too much for carbs. I set mine or 40 percent protein and 30 for fats and carbs. All I really cared aboug was the 40 percent for protein though.

I really wouldn'd worry about the Goal, just track the actuals. MFP will still dsiplay you grams of protein so you can meet your meal plan. I would guess that most of us consistantly get the "You are not eating enough calories" message.

Made me laugh and believe me it hurts to laugh after surgery. I NEVER SATISFY MFD CALORIE requirements. Warning! Insufficient calories and carbs boggles the MFD system. When we signed up for weight loss surgery, you made a life change that works when you follow your surgeons rules

I never messed with the settings personally. I know what I need and I don't care if MFP tells me I'm over on protein, lol! I use the site as a way to track, but I don't follow what they recommend.
