Need of advice

So after my wonderful Whole30 I plummeted into a horrible binge. Instantly followed by gas, bloat, cramping, pain & a little vomiting. Almost 4 days later & I still feel like hell. Uncomfortably bloated, constantly nauseated with little to no appetite. I feel exhausted. How long will this take to clear up? I'm sipping water, teas, soup kombucha & getting a lot of rest. I don't know what else I can do. I'm thinking of taking an Epsom Salt bath hoping it may help to "detox". I haven't felt sick in almost a year, what do I do to recover from this?

Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well
Maybe ontop of the horrible binge, you might actually be genuinely sick. Keep resting and drinking the water and tea. See if you can muscle up the strength to make some bone broth. It might help to boost your system back up.0 -
Shannon could very well be right. Try some things that bolster your immune system.

I plan on making this tonight, not because I'm sick, but because it sounds amazing. However, the ingredients in this bad boy really do help battle illness. Coconut oil is said to help against viral infections. Garlic and onion fight bacterial infections. Garlic, onion, and bone broth (if you have it) all help your body's immune system. This soup looks like an immune-system-boosting powerhouse.
Of course, as always, get lots of fluids and rest!0 -
I know that when come off from a whole 30 and go on a mad binge,it takes time to recover from it.

Here is a tea recipe that may help you..it's not only for it's anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for when you are feeling unwell.
Hope it passes soon0 -

Sounds good. I don't have leeks but I can use onions in place of it. Thanks.0 -

I made a huge pot of broth & chicken. Made a small cup of bone broth too. Need more bones!0 -
You sound like you're doing the right stuff so keep going. Hopefully you can kick this soon!0

Why did you binge coming off the Whole 30? There are numerous topics to you ease into the "real world" again. Your body is rejecting everything you overloaded it with after being so restrictive for 30 days, so it could take a week to recover. Honestly, I'm not sure your intentions for the Whole 30, but with such a binge after it seems like it was for quick weight loss. Perhaps you should re-evaluate and work on a plan that is more sustainable!
Also, none of that was said in a *****y tone what-so-ever!0 -

No. I did not do the Whole30 as "quick weight loss". I did it as a challenge & to see what life would be like going strict Paleo. I don't know why I binged. I have issues with food sometimes. It's not all black & white. I felt very lost & depressed when I came off the Whole30 & maybe I didn't prepare well enough. So shoot me.
Despite your efforts it did come off kinda insensitive.0 -
Have you went back to totally SAD? Or just indulgent a lot of semi paleo treats? If I overdo paleo treats, it takes me just a couple of days. On the other hand If I eat a ton of gluten, it makes me feel bloated and gross at least 7-10 days. It happened me at the summer twice, once it was vacation, and the second time I attempted a gluten challenge to do the celiac test.0

Fendi_Doll, hope you're feeling better.
In my experience, my failures in Paleo usually find myself face first in pizza and diet Mountain Dew - the Antithesis of Paleo. Then I get the fun of the physical pain (as i see you and I share) and the mental "butt-kicking" for doing it - sweet shame spiral, huh?
Agree with previous posters - "cleaner" foods, hydration (and rad nutrient dense bone broth) with rest will calm your seas. As far as the "why" it happened - it doesn't matter. It's done and no one can change it. (no one ever said, "i wished i stressed out more"). All we can do is look ahead. Fingers crossed your on the mend.0 -
I'm finally starting to feel a little better0

It took me a long time to finally commit to a Whole 30, mostly because people who do it seem to use it as an excuse to binge after. I just don't understand that.
Due to my bad weekend, I jumped into a Whole30 totally unplanned yesterday. While I didn't binge at the end of my last one in late August, the dairy sure does creep up on me.
I hope that you are feeling better and find a way to get back on track.0 -
