I am 15 weeks along and finally feeling great. Nausea is gone. My energy level is still hit or miss, but a lot of that has to do with my husband's schedule. He leaves for work at 3am and I get up and make him his tea and protein shake while he is getting ready. Then he has an hour commute so I sleep lightly waiting for him to call that he made it. Most mornings I never fall back asleep, so it makes for really long days. This morning it was 6am when I finally fell back asleep and then I had to get up at 6:30 to get ready for the day. I am going to try to do my prenatal yoga DVD which is 55 minutes long during his commute time, and then hopefully it will make me relaxed and able to fall back asleep. If not, tomorrow is my day off so I can take an afternoon nap.
Last doctor's appointment was on 10-30. They did labs that time and my iron came back low. I assumed it would be, but not as low as it was. She is letting me try to modify it with my diet before taking iron supplments, so hoping there is an improvement when I go back on the 27th. Any iron rich food ideas or recipes pass them my way!!!
We have our names picked out as well. Actually they have been picked out since before we were pregnant. Boy name is Ernest (Ernie) Gerald and girl is Lena Lucille. All four of us eagerly waiting for the 20 week ultrasound which is scheduled for 12-20 so we can find out what we are having.0 -
I used to get up with my husband and make him breakfast and such and then go back to sleep. I was trying to be the good wife. Until one day he told me he kinda didnt like it. He felt perfectly capable of making his own breakfast and just felt bad I was awake earlier than I had to be. When I realized he would actually prefer I slept, I did just that. Now, I dont get up until my daughter does (unless I have to be to work earlier.)
I know spinach, beans and red meat are high in iron. I wouldn't be scared of taking my own iron supplement, or just look for a prenatal vitamin high in iron.
I have a girl's name picked put but am still really struggling with a boy name.
How am I feeling? You are going to be sorry you asked.
Warning: TMI! ... Don't read if you are easily disturbed, lol.
I swear I have had every symptom in the book already and I am only 9+ weeks.
Nausea and vomiting: comes and goes. But when it comes it sticks around forever and is very intense, I have been losing weight and am so not trying to.
Sore breasts: they really hurt at first but just ache now. Weird thing is, they really hurt when going out in the cold.
Tiredness and Insomnia: actually, at first, I was just always tired and slept 10-12 hrs and slept like the dead. Now, I can't sleep at all. I am super tired all the time but can't sleep. Can't get comfortable either.
Weird dreams: if I get lucky and manage to get to sleep, it doesn't last long. My bizarre dreams always wake me up!
Frequent urination: yes, I have to pee. All. The. Time. But, it really isn't that bad. Just a little annoying.
Moodiness: omg, I feel so bad for my daughter. She asked me when I was going to go away and her mom was going to come back. I am freaking bipolar this past few weeks I swear! Happy, then sad (actually crying - so not like me,) then angry, then happy again. Poor child
Hungry and food aversions: I bounce back and forth between constantly hungry and feeling the intense need to EAT and nothing sounding good at all and not wanting to eat.
Feeling bloated: try ACTUALLY bloated! I gained 2 inches around my stomach almost instantly. My jeans were tight at 5 weeks and I am already in my stretchy gym pants and pajama pants. Doesn't look baby at all, I just look fat. I look like I put on 10 lbs (even though I have actually lost.)
Backache: I really would love to hear if someone has found a good treatment for this that isn't a daily massage therapist! Why does the back have to hurt so?
Nipple changes: they are always hard, hurts when they are cold and when something hits them. Getting all those weird bumps on the areola, forget what they are called.
Constipation and gas: okay, so this is always a problem for me. I have IBS-C but pregnancy has really complicated the issue. I am so constipated that nothing is working! Also, before pregnancy the gas never smelled. Now it does. So embarrassing.
Hemmorhoids: first time in my life I have ever had these! Bizarre - and uncomfortable!
Leg Cramps: mostly acts up at night complicating even more the issue of not being able to sleep.
Headaches: I really think that my antinausea medication is to blame for the really bad headaches. I get migraines every time I take it. When off of it, I have mild headaches, mostly mild sensitivity to light and dull aches.
Heartburn and indigestion: yuck! And ow! And yuck! This is pretty much how I feel/what I think when the acid comes up.
Abdominal pain and itching: I dont recall having the itching ever with my daughter but really have it with this one. I thought the itching was when your skin starts stretching, why is it itching already? The abdominal pain the doctor says is just pulling muscles.
Shortness of breath: Okay, I came on this site to lose weight because I was having this problem when walking. When I got pregnant, this wasn't a problem anymore, now it is. Grrr.
Skin changes: My old stretch marks that I got from having my daughter went almost transparent over the years. They came back almost instantly! All my old white stretch marks, turned purple. Also, I can see my veins in my feet and my breasts now.
Vaginal discharge: eww! Just eww! Does anyone else get vaginal discharge when they are just innocently, casually walking around?
Higher basal body temperature: Okay, this one is weird. I know that pregnant women's body temperature runs higher and they feel warm. But, that isn't the way it's been working for me. My temp is running higher (according to a thermometer and my husband who says I feel super warm to the touch) but I feel freezing! All the time, super cold. I think I finally may understand this one after my friend told me today he thinks it is because I am losing weight.
Cramps "menstrual like:" thank goodness this didnt last long. Yes, I !missed my period because I didnt bleed but I cramped much longer than I normally do.
Last weird thing: I swear my mind is having a hard time being convinced I am pregnant. I will wake up in the morning and think "I should eat something soon so I am not sick." ... "Oh, yea, I am pregnant! Holy crap!" .... This doesn't happen every morning but has happened several times. Like it dawns on me that I am pregnant and I am shocked each time. Also, one time eating dinner out with my brother and his wife - after eating I started feeling really sick. I genuinely was thinking about what I had eaten very carefully wondering if it's possible if it had dairy in it. I couldnt think of any other reason I would be sick. After concluding it definitely didnt, I decided it must have been something wrong with the food. My sis in law suddenly asked me if I was okay, I must have looked as ill as I felt. I told her I felt sick, and wasn't sure why, that maybe it was something I ate. She said "or maybe its just morning sickness again." Lightbulb! Oh yea! I am pregnant! I have been sick, I remember! Okay, I'm good. My sis in law thought I was crazy. She couldn't believe I seriously forgot I was pregnant.0 -
*Sigh* I was doing awesome this past week, but alas...I have just been hit hard this morning with a nasty bout of nausea!!!! Boss is talking to me and I'm just nodding my head. :frown:
Other than this, at 14 weeks I've been feeling like a human being again. I've been able to exercise again without feeling to winded or exhausted.
I still have digestion and digestive problems but it's okay. Nothing a few Tums and probiotic pills can't fix!!! :-)
I'm also excited and looking forward to my 20 week ultrasound and find out if we're having a boy or a girl. Hubby is hoping it's a girl since we already have a named picked. Been having a tough time picking boy names.
How are you feeling and doing Hotmomma?!?!? :bigsmile:0 -
I can't wait for the nausea and fatigue to stop! This is number three for me and the last two were smooth sailing pregnancies. I am a few days shy of 12 weeks and I hope it is true that the honey moon period starts in the second trimester. My poor husband has been cooking, cleaning, and taking care of our boys since I am just too exhausted to do anything but sleep once I get home from work!0

I currently and doing pretty good. Nausea is gone, now it's fatigue, ravenous hunger, frequent urination, and back aches.0

OMG yes on the ravenous hunger!! I feel like a bottomless pit! I eat something and I'm hungry again not even an hour later.0 -
I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and for the most part doing pretty well. I definitely have the fatigue, hunger and frequent urination. But my hunger is killing me. If I go to bed even the least bit hungry, I will throw up in the morning when I wake up. Absolutely no warning whatsoever...just getting everything together for work and then running for the bathroom. I have also started waking up in the middle of the night hungry. I think I am finally getting it under control with even more snacks then I was eating. I am still struggling to eat enough calories but getting better! Glad to see everyone seems to be getting better as they move into the second trimester!0

I am 15 1/2 weeks and I had a doctors appointment this morning. I love hearing the heartbeat and we heard lots of little wiggles this time! My doctor said I should be feeling them soon. My next appointment is my mid-way ultrasound. We are not finding out the sex this time though. We have NO CLUE about names.
I gained a good bit since my last appointment so now up a total of 4lbs. This doesn't surprise me as I have been very hungry lately. Still working out about 4 days a week. Just signed up for a 5k on December 15th with some friends, so I am looking forward to that. I am so happy to have stayed active this time!
I love hearing your updates, ladies!0 -
Well I think I may finally be feeling a little better. My energy is still not back and by the end of the work day I am worn out. My husband has been great ( cooking, cleaning, taking care of the 2 year old). I have to travel to San Antonio for work next and I sure hope to feel better. My 2 sisters are going with me to keep me company so I hope I have some energy to at least go out at night and eat. I don't have an appointment until Dec 3. I hope to find out the gender before Christmas. We don't have any names picked out yet, it took us forever to figure one out with my son. So maybe when we hear the gender it will be easier.
I hope you all have a restful weekend!

Anyone else have colostrum already? I've had it for about four weeks (I'm 12 weeks) and my doula said it's probably because my son is only 9 months old and I'm pregnant again, so never really stopped lactating.0
-
That is probably exactly the case. I started 'leaking' at 8 months pregnant with my daughter but didnt dry up completely until 7-8 months after she had stopped nursing. It really was surprising how long it took to totally stop.0

Late to the party as usual... haha! Glad to see you ladies are still going strong and some are experiencing less symptoms than before.
I'm anxiously awaiting my 13 week check up on Thursday... I just really want to confirm the heart beat, because I'm that paranoid person. My morning (all day...) sickness is letting up but they're being replaced by dull headaches, and yesterday I had my second migraine of this pregnancy. No bueno!0 -
So I have my Dr. apt tomorrow. I haven't had one in a while. Everything seems to be going well but I am just nervous this time that something will be wrong. I'm ready to get this apt over with0

You know, I had a similar problem and the doc told me I shouldn't really be having anymore headaches in the 2nd tri. She asked what I did for a living and I told I work in financial firm and sit in front of a computer all day. She then recommended I see an eye doctor because some women experience eye trouble during pregnancy.
Oddly enough I went to get my eyes checked and bam...I'm far sighted. My prescription was really minimal though and I only now use my glasses for reading and while I'm on the computer. Sure enough, headaches are gone!!!
I'm just crossing fingers I get my 20/20 vision after the baby is born. :frown:0 -
I forgot how crappy round ligament pain can be sometimes!! And it's just starting (0
