Warmest Running Gloves

I just purchased a pair of Columbia's Hit the Trail gloves, but I'm now reading the reviews online and having second thoughts. Some people say they are warm, some don't. Can anyone who runs in a very cold climate (like WI) recommend a pair?

    Maybe mittens would be better?

I have a pair of Ron Hill they are gloves but have a fold over protective cover (rain/snow/wind/), they are great for cold weather (I'm northern Ontario) but the outer layer can tuck under and be more suitable for milder winter runs.

I wear a fairly light glove till about 20 then I add a wind mitt which helps a lot. Granted I am in northern Illinois not Wisconsin. Maybe be raised in northern Wisconsin acclimated me. I also have a pair like the poster above mentioned with kind of "wind mitt tips"
