I like the quote of the day! That dude is a beast defiantly no someday for him lol ...This morning I ran again my my Army co-worker the normal 5k route I always time it and today it was 29:15 not bad for running with a guy with not much endurance for distance running. Then of course into the gym for a lighter shoulder workout I'm still taking is easy and still feel my left shoulder a bit while working out so I'm just easing back into my heavier weight hope get back to 120lbs total weight by the end of the month.
Glad to see everyone posting and trying to keep up daily I know somedays are better then others but I'm pleased to see a few people on here daily...It's sad because this group has a lot of members but only a fraction of us hold each other accountable on a daily basis...Everyone likes the idea but no follow through :huh:0 -
Tim, sounds like your running co-worker is making great progress! It's awesome that you're encouraging/supporting him like that. Is your shoulder feeling any better?
After 72 hours it finally quit snowing! I went out this morning and maybe only another half inch of snow from last night so that was a relief. Now it's going to get ridiculously cold, but I can handle cold.
Trainer session scheduled for tonight, and then I plan to get on the treadmill to get in the run I missed yesterday. Too much snow out there to be able to run outside in the dark. I'm hoping by this weekend I can get out for my long run. My Yaktrax should be coming this week. It's supposed to be really cold on Saturday (high temp of -2F with some kind of wind chill) but layering up sounds like more fun than running 6 miles on the treadmill.0 -

It's okay, I feel enough guilt, er, I mean "accountability" for a dozen people. haha! Kidding, sort of.
I do feel really bad that I have nothing to report lately. I feel even worse to have to be sitting around like a slug. I'm about to head out to the doctor now and am really eager for answers. I feel like my endurance and strength have fell completely off in all this down time. :frown: I don't mind working my fitness back up again, as long as I can get an "all clear". That's the hope, anyway.
Y'all keep up the awesome work!0 -
@ Sherry - Ah don't beat yourself up about it! We all have been there and have been prevented from going to the gym and or running to stay active. I know that having a family is a lot of work and I am pleased to see you take the time to spend with all of them daily...I also hope the doctor can figure something out on your end and hopefully give you the ok to start getting back into the fitness swing of things. Keep us updated

Went to nia class today. We were going to cut a xmas tree but husband had to take someone up to ski pass. He drives local taxi part time, that means everything from a huge bus, small bus, vans, suv's, down to the little prius with snow tires he drove this morning!!
He is back already but on call for the day so we can't take off. We don't get a schedule you have to be very flexible to handle this job.
I have a bunch of things to do I don't want to like canceling my hawaii trip to timeshare because we can't afford it this time...uck!!! We have every other year one and this year some major expenses around house came up that have to be done...

Ok I'm dong a little backtracking here - too busy of a week! Great day this was! I did a fast workout tried a crazy workout twisting push-ups where you swing your knees through to the side and lean to one side and do a push-up. Good stuff but crazy hard on my sore shoulder. I stopped doing that workout when they asked me to do jumping jack push-ups. I do not like landing on my face!
Anyway I switched gears and did a cardio strength workout.
That night was my husbands 3rd degree black belt test. I helped with parts of the colored belt Tae Kwon Do tests and the non-judging black belts were able to take the brown belt test with the two browns that were testing so I got a pretty good workout there. I enjoy sparring it gets the heart pumping and lots of steps.
I don't use MFP Tae Kwon Do exercise calorie burns because I think it's too high - but I depend on my fitbit calories earned. It was a good day and my husband did great. Our Tae Kwon Do really shows that the weight loss has helped. We have sooooo much more stamina. I wish I could go back and take my 2nd degree black belt test.
Have a great day!0
