Hope nobody minds if I start the thread. I got serious again starting Sunday after my kids left. Going to log food, and get my FitBit goals done every day! I missed last weeks weigh in. . . Here goes.

SW: 156
Last time: 132.8
TW: 135.2

I'm going to work hard to get under 130 by December 31st. Wish me luck!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Lois, I'm thinking of you and praying that all goes well. Light, way to go! You're my inspiration for keeping to plan even during visits with kids and grandkids. Sarah, hope you're doing well and not working too hard.

don't mind you starting the thread... anyone is welcome :) I was waiting until my fitbit report came in but it didn't come in until this evening just before Biggest Loser. Good for you, Sheesh, to be rededicating your efforts. I can see some tough times ahead for me as this weekend is the office Christmas party at a restaurant and then the treats will start coming into the office. I have decided to take my treats and freeze them at the office which should help but I know I'm going to want some of them. I'm hoping there will be a lot of chocolate as I can't eat that without going into heart irregularities so I stay away from it faithfully :) I'm not sure the restaurant has a website but I plan to look it up tomorrow and see if I can do any planning ahead... and otherwise, I am going to make that a very active exercise day to balance things out.

Sheesh, I'm glad you were able to spend time with your little ones... they are so much fun to have around :) You will be back on track in no time if you just get back into logging the food and keeping up with your exercise. I saw you rush past me this evening while I was biking, LOL.

I'm going to give myself one more day to lose a little more water weight and weigh in tomorrow. I wasn't thinking yesterday when I cooked myself some barley in turkey broth but as I ate it, it occurred to me how salty it tasted. I am hoping to be back to where I was 2 weeks ago before the company pot luck and 2 lb overnight gain. :P
FItbit says my average steps were up (made my goal of 5000 with an average of 5125) but the total av calorie burn was down (av 1807/day). That's disappointing as I made a point of getting extra activity ... good thing for the little bit of tennis and the walk around the soccer field I suppose. I guess it's just not the same as getting on the exercise bike every night

We'll see how I do on the scale tomorrow :)

glad I waited one more day to weigh in :)

    LW 182.0
TW 180.2 Keep in mind that was a quick up with a quick down so most likely water retention after the pot luck so no biggie that it's off now. The best thing was that I didn't gain weight over Thanksgiving :)

Immediate goal? Be in the 170's by New Years, which would mean no gaining over the next several weeks in spite of being exposed to holiday treats. Then I will go back to my goal of making it to 165 by Feb. That seems a lot to lose over that time frame so I may need to extend it. I don't seem to be losing very quickly and much of the time between then and now is focused on holding ground :-/ We'll see once we get into the New Year.

Hope Lois is doing okay this morning... and hello to the rest of you as well :)

Congratulations light! You're doing so great! It's so hard to refrain from the holiday eating, but it occurred to me the other day (as I was stuffing my face with pumpkin pie with whipped cream) that most forbidden foods just really aren't that good, ya know? I'm going to keep that in mind for the rest of the season. I'm sure you'll do great making good choices at your holiday party this weekend. I'm driving to Boise to take care of granddaughters next Monday for a couple of days. Daughter and her hubby attending a holiday party out of town. I hope I can get some activity, and more important, stay on eating plan!

I'm off to my trainer for chest, back, and shoulders. Later I plan to get my steps on the treadmill. We got a TON of snow, so no outdoor activity today. I fell on ice at the park last year, so I'm more choosy on that now. I like snowshoeing, so I'll get some of that during the season.

Hope everyone has a great day. Lois, thoughts are with you.

Ok jumped on the scale before surgery. Not great but not horrible.

Surgery went well. Remove less than 5% of the mint torn meniscus and repair the remainder. He did something with the ACL graft. Hubby said something like it would feel like a pebble in your shoe so it was fixed. Felt good hearing that so I didn't think it was in my head. Started on Advil today hoping to be off the pain meds. Doing very well walking with one crutch. I missed placed my Fitbit so I need to find that again.

Light great job and sticking with your plan and freezing the goodies was a good idea
Sheesh you'll be back on track in no time. You are one of the most focused of all of us

Lois, glad the surgery went well :) You sound like you are doing really good so far with your recovery :) Good for you for not gaining over the holiday, too. :)

Sheesh, glad you are being careful regarding the icy situations. We sure don't need you to fall and break anything. Have a great time at Grandbabyland :)

Okay, so where are the rest of you regarding your weigh ins? :) Sarah isn't the only one not checking in out there...

I'm driving to my daughters home today to babysit for a couple of days. I hope the roads aren't icy. ???? I've been very good (but not perfect) since Dec 1st, and I've lost 2 pounds since then according to the scale this morning!???? I hope I have time to post tomorrow, but with a 4 year old and a 2 year old I can't promise???? I must have had some water weight from Thanksgiving because 2 pounds is rare for me, and I need to be careful to not expect that in the weeks to come.

Light, as you know, grand baby land can be quite the challenge, but I need to stay focused as much as possible if I am to reach my goal of under 130 by December 31st! Wish me luck. It looks like Florida is the only part of the country that's got good weather, lucky girl!!

Lois, thanks for checking in with us post surgery. Do your rehab right and you'll be back out there hiking before you know it. Sending you healing thoughts.

Sarah, where are you? Hope you're just busy and walking at the mall, and not sick or something. Thinking of you.

    Quick check in -

Sheesh - have fun with those grandbabie (light - you too!!). And I think you're right - FL looks like the only warm area. I even got a message from Cheryl asking to visit az (she was trying to bribe me with cookies!!!) lol. But her roads were crazy icy - Deanna as well. I can't image what's happening with Sarah's part of the world. eek.

I'm back at the office today...unsure I'll make it all day, knee is throbbing and I didn't think to bring my ice machine.

I had a productive weekend in that I used two of my slow cookers yesterday to make a chicken, black bean and corn chowder/stew and a chuck roast, green chili pulled beef for tacos and salads for dinner this week. And I roasted some zucchini/squash. I'm having the stew/beef for lunch as well. Didn't have much in me after to make anything else, nor even to go shopping.

I sneaked a peek on the scale this morning and dag nab...204.4. I seem to be hanging in this 204.0-204.6 range. I guess as long as I'm not going up, I'm ok maintaining during this season.

Post op follow up is on Thursday, so hopefully back to therapy and/or training Friday or next week. That will get me motivated. plus it's really way too cold to NOT be active. I was freezing when laying on the couch resting my knee this weekend. Felt much better when I could move around (I was cold BEFORE the ice was applied).

Getcrocked.com was the source of my two recipes this weekend. May actually buy the app to get access to the rest of the options.

Check back tomorrow with the official results.

Oh and I heard from Deanna - she's headed back to the FB world!!!!

    Sarah - Where are you?!?!?!

    Hello, Team,

Sorry I have been so silent. Some of my reasons are good, and some are--well, not bad, but not fun. Work has exploded, and I don't seem to be able to take a short break to check in here during the day, and then I race from my desk most nights to try to make it to the mall to walk before they close. My client is putting out a major, major report that will hit the news in early January, and we're updating the Web site, publishing new Best Practices, etc. etc. The real insanity hasn't even hit yet, but it has been very busy.

On the fun side, Hubby and I got out of town last weekend to attend a Christmas Holiday Home Tour in a lovely seaside town in DE. We also had a wonderful dinner Saturday on a enclosed veranda and was able to watch the town's Christmas parade from there. We had to return earlier on Sunday than preferred because of the snow coming in, and we hit some dicey traffic on the way back (some people just can't drive in snow around here), but we made it home okay. Two nights in a hotel with no way to work if I wanted was a welcome change. On Saturday, between the treadmill in the fitness center, walking the tour and walking around town, I did more than 18,000 steps! My highest ever.

I decided today to not work while I eat lunch, but visit here instead, and I'm glad I did. Lois, I'm so happy to hear that your recovery is going smoothly, and Light and Sheesh, it's nice to hear that you guys are plugging along. I miss the chit-chat here on the board and promise to try to do better.

I'm still stuck in low 140s weight-wise, so yesterday l went back to the nutritionist and let her look at my BodyMedia food logs for the last month. She made a few suggestions, but said that overall, my intake is good in quantity and composition. That makes me happy and unhappy. The unhappy is because I had sort of hoped that I was doing something wrong that could be easily and quickly corrected. Instead, she suggested that I make a couple of modification to my activity routine, which of course I will. I am sick of treading water.

Hope everyone is enjoying the season and having a good week goal-wise. Must get back to work now, but will check in again as soon as I can to post my weight and stats.
