overwhelming

There are times when I do feel overwhelmed. I struggle, as do many of you, with a combination of pain, exhaustion and depression. Coupled with almost pathological insomnia and the dark, cold winter weather, well, it just sometimes all becomes too much.
I try not to dwell in it, but it's tough.
What do you guys do to fight all these feelings?

Potluck i know exactly what do you mean and you're right it's not easy at all. In my case what I do is :
1 - if I feel like I exercise indoors, some free dancing and push-ups and light-weights lift, my own rhythm and it does wonders...If you feel too tired to exercise just choose some great songs from the 80's and soon you'll feel like dancing and that's enough to exercise all the muscles and joints as well to improve your mood and depression.
2 - in those rainy and dark days on winter just light some scented candles around the room, if you like put a meditation cd playing and do some relaxation - it works for me.
3 - watch a film! When I feel depressed a good horror film is a good therapy for me. If you don't fancy horror stuff just pick something else like a comedy or even some kids film.
4 - When I feel like doing nothing at all and i'm bored to death I just go to Google+ and see what's new, post some stuff I like, try to find someone to talk.
This is what I do when I feel like that ( hush hush I might eat some chocolate too ...)0 -

Totally understand what you are going through. We have a constant struggle day by day. Some things I have learned:
1. Literally take it day by day. I used to overwhelm myself with Thinking and worrying about all the stuff I need to/ wish I could get done. i.e. housework, shopping, exercise, etc. but body says uh, no. I would feel so depressed b/c I could not do what I use to. I had to LEARN how to tell myself... "Right now, it can't be done... Maybe tomorrow." I used to be a little ocd about some things but again, had to LEARN to let it just, RIDE, for the moment, i.e, housework, shopping, exercise, etc.
2. Get Rid of NEGATIVITY. If there are negative, critical thoughts in your head, Try, Try, Try to replace them with something positive. (I'm hurting today, hopefully tomorrow will be better) Negativity= Stress, Stress= More Pain, More Pain= Depression. If there are negative people around, stressing you out, try to take a break from them if possible, even if that means escaping with a hot bath & candles.
3. When you do have a better day. Don't try to do everything you ever thought you needed to get done on that one day. Do what you can without over doing it. Then relish/ enjoy your day. Reward yourself for feeling good that day. This is your day, Enjoy it. We have so few of them.
4. As for the insomnia, just make sure you are Resting! Notice I didn't say Sleeping... that may not be possible. but if we are not resting at least, we will hurt more. Just lay in the bed with a good book, relaxing sounds/ music, love story movie, or try other relaxation techniques that will calm you.
Hope this helps. Keep going! You are worth it0
