Just curious what everyone is planning for their Christmas feasts and looking for some inspiration. I have a naturally cured and smoked ham and a whole salmon as a starting point, still trying to figure out some great primal/paleo additions.
Would love to hear what you have planned (and any recipes)!

Maple glazed duck with bacon Brussels sprouts, mashed sweet potatoes, red cabbage with bacon, sausage stuffing without bread.0

Those all sound great, I should add that I'm in New Zealand and it's crazy hot so ours will definitely be lighter fare! Might try those recipes out for a winter solstice feast in June :-)0

I'm on call this year ( I'm a midwife)...my family surprised me by announcing that they are showing up. Normally we'd do turkey but as I can't guarantee I'll be home. We are having:
- maple glazed bone in pasture raised ham with a homemade chutney of sorts (not sure what yet)
- mashed cauliflower
- peas for dad and bacon/Brussels sprouts for the rest of us
Desert will be g-free/vegan gingerbread men (rice flour/arrowroot) I'm allergic to eggs so I'm making a grain concession and my dads fav, candy cane chocolate chunk ice cream (homemade coconut milk ice cream, crushed natural candy cane and enjoy life chocolate chunks mixed in).0 -
My stepdad got a (couple of?) deer, so we'll be having dollar steaks and venison burgers, at least, while I'm visiting him and my mom. Not sure what else, there (I'd be happy eating venison the whole time I'm there).
My mother in law has a tradition of making lasagna, but she always does it with noodles, so we've arranged for me to help a little to make a noodle-less one with zucchini to add the noodle-like quality (I'm experimenting with shredded zukes, though, since I can't get them sliced thin enough for my taste). It also means I get to add ricotta, since I don't have to worry about my father in law eating it (he hates ricotta, but to me, a lasagna isn't complete without it).0 -
Family is doing Ham an Smoked Goose. I will be eating the Goose, some quinoa, and lots of veggies0
