I am really disappointed that this close to the end of the challenge I am going back up again:cry:

I had a few Christmas get togethers and nights out and whilst I thought I was making smart choices, it was just more than I am used to eating, and then there was the alcohol!!! However I really enjoyed them and rather than focus on the negative, I would rather focus on the fact that I have lost weight and I will continue to lose weight until I get to my target, it just may take me a little bit longer.

I am off back to Scotland for christmas tomorrow which will have all of it's own challenges in the lead up to Christmas and New Year, but I will continue to log and do as much exercise as I can before we come back home in January. I will be later checking in over the next 2 - 3 weeks as I will be back to GMT but I look forward to seeing how everyone has done!

Margaret

    Lost this week: 2.0 lbs
    Total Challenge loss: 17.1

I have no idea what happened this week. I did not have a great week, but had my highest loss of the Challenge. Hoping it isn't just temporary. 2.9 lbs. to go, which seems unlikely but it is going to be close! Looking forward to the next Challenge.

I know I'm not going to make 20, and I'm ok with that. I had steady loss and I feel proud. Also, I hit my 30 lb loss mini goal this week so that was super exciting!
  • Congrats To those posted above for being here the entire time and for all the loss you have so far. Anna - you just might make it!
I am on week three of the scale being stuck. Quite frankly, I'm pissed about this week's result. The first two weeks of nothing I was able to blame on a long thanksgiving weekend, but three weeks - no.
My macros weren't perfect every day, but I was at my deficit. Any advice on how to get out of this funk is welcome.
    One more week everyone!

Jen, your scale might be stuck but I think I remember you posting some f-ing amazing inch loss results! So hang in there, you're still doing awesome. The scale was going between 170-173 for me for at least three weeks too and it finally started coming off again. Maybe the same will happen for you!

Don't feel so bad Margaret, going up and down happens all the time. Congrats to you all! We're almost there and I think everyone made some great progress.

    HW: 200+

    Challenge starting weight: 185
    Challenge goal: 165
    Overall goal: 135
    Last week: 170.6

    This week: 168.0!

So I've lost 17 pounds so far! It's doubtful that I'll lost three more in less than two weeks, but at this point I'm pretty pleased with the progress! I thought I was destined to stick round 172 forever so seeing the scale move twice this week was encouraging. ALSO! I am no longer obese!!

Mary, congrats on your new "normal"! I'm about 4 pounds from there and can't wait to hit that goal.

Jen, please don't stress over that stupid scale! You are building great muscle tone. It's hard to get those huge calorie burns like when we were running but you're making great "winter" strides in strength. The scale will catch up eventually but it's not the best tool to measure the success you're having now. :)

The stars aligned and I lost two pounds this week :) Just inching my way down. it feels like very slow progress but then i think back and three months is not such a long time. Still I gained ten pounds by going off to Paris for two weeks in the summer and it took me almost two months to lose those same 10 pounds. In fact I know if I ate extra for just a fews days I would gain a lot back. What gives! How does a body gain so quickly and lose so slowly!

Anyway, congrats to all on the progress made, its more important to continue the journey and not get discouraged, this group helps me a lot to keep going. Im imagining maintaining the loss is the true test.

Have missed several weeks due to things beyond my control (illness, work, family, etc) but still plugging along.
Hopefully things are on the upswing and I will be able to focus energies where I want to now.

Hey everyone great job on the losses. Jen I completely know how you feel I'm stuck at the same weight for the past 3 weeks again and can't seem to lose anything. I'm hoping after the holidays will be easier for me to lose weight again since I won't be tempted as much by all the goodies.
  • There are some seriously amazing results on here! I wish I could think of a word bigger than Congrats to those of you are have lost more than 20 lbs! That is simply stellar and a testament to your serious dedication. KUDOS!!

Logged in and changed my weight on Saturday... then must have got distracted, as just realised that I didn't post here then... so catching up!

Was pleased the scales were still showing 0.3lbs down on Saturday, as on Friday evening I was out for our Christmas works meal and partook in a rare night of drinking alcohol. I'm looking back now and thinking alcohol... hmm, wasted calories as I wasn't really that bothered to not go drinking. But a great evening all the same... although think the scales are now catching up with it!

I have a new pressie for Christmas... a cross-trainer (elliptical and bike), with an onboard computer and hill simulation. I had an elliptical and bike separately previously, but on both the computers stopped working - my elliptical didn't simulate hills and with the computer on the exercise bike not working, there was no resistance peddling. :frown: Needless to say, this gave me less of an incentive, as I could only measure the time I'd exercised. Hubby has finally put together my new "toy"... I'm so thrilled to have something that works properly again. So I've got no excuses now not to exercise regulary!!

It's wonderful to see everyone doing so well though... so huge congratulations to everyone that has reached or surpassed that 20lbs goal and to everyone else for all your losses too. Still with 5lbs to go... somehow I don't think I will quite make that... but you have all provided me with the inspiration and motivation to keep trying and it's been fab to see all these losses tot up... so thank you everyone for helping to keep me focused. :flowerforyou:

Keep up the great work everyone!! There's no doubt that Christmas here we come lighter! :drinker:
