    ^^Like today's thought-for-the-day. Very true, I think.

Anyway, my lil girl has picked up a nasty cold and was up and down all night (unable to breathe well) and is needing wiped, etc constantly. The holidays are turning out to be a dead time for working out, and my diet has been "so-so". Not bad most of the time, but occasionally abysmal. I think I'll come out the other side of the holidays about the same (no gain, no loss), or if a gain, hopefully no more than a couple lbs. Considering Winter, in general, usually puts about 15lbs on me (or more), I'll take that. My waistline is definitely looking smaller and I'm finally to the point where I wish'd I'd taken pictures. Dammit. I know there's lots of people who say how great it is to take pictures, but I always thought, "WHY would I want to take FAT pictures?!?", but now I realize that the scale is not moving much but I *think* my waistline is getting trimmer and would love the visual confirmation. Oh well.

Jen, how's your husband doing now? Way to go, keeping up your workouts even without your workout partner.
Laura, be careful running out there. You are a brave girl for running in those conditions, but don't take big risks.
Marla, loved your stories of all the stuff you got done. It does feel good to solve problems all by your self, doesn't it? :)
Tim, we're all going to be cheering for you on your test tomorrow. Rest up and then when the time comes, hit the Beast Mode Button! Out of curiosity, how often do these tests come around?

    Sooo, where's e'rybody else?

@ Sherry - These tests are annual if you score overall 90% or above if not then every 6 months. I have been 90% or above for the last several years now and plan on keeping it that way. I will ensure to hit the BEAST MODE button tomorrow morning! (lol) I hear you when it comes to the holidays I think I put on a few pounds myself it’s always a hard time of year to control your eating habits. Winter is always kind of down for me minus preparing for my annual fitness test each year...After my annual test I usually slow down or stop running till the Spring comes around in Germany that's usually April time frame.

Today is my final day off for this weekend… Tomorrow is the Physical Training Test at 0600 and then might go back later on to work out again. Tuesday morning is the Jingle Bell 5K run at 0700 Christmas Eve which I plan on working out before the run. Then on Christmas Day I will reset completely and try and finish up my 300 miles for running hopefully before December is over I know I'm close to the goal.

Sherry I'm with you on the pictures - I really wish I had taken the time to take some "before" pictures when I hired my trainer in February. But I've taken before pictures in the past where after didn't look any different, so I didn't bother this time. Wish somebody had told me this would be successful. LOL

Tim can't wait to hear how your test goes tomorrow! Reading about your workouts I have no doubt you'll exceed 90% again this year.

Today's workout is speed intervals on the bike so I'll hit the gym later. I'm doing laundry & cleaning this morning, and it's snowing, and it's feeling like a perfect day to stay home in my pajamas, but I have to go to the store later anyway so I'll swing by the gym on the same trip.

Received lots of snow - ok decent amount but since husband is laid out with knee. Sons and I shoveled. Used this as exercise for now and may work out later.

@HereOnOut hope your daughter feels better, I know that it is a bummer at the Holidays to not feel well.

Husband is doing well, doesn't like being down and it is difficult to keep him there. He was going a little bonkers when we were all outside and he had to stay inside. He is recovering soooo much better this time. He had same surgery 10 years ago. We are in so much better shape now. : )

    Good luck Tim tomorrow.
