Day off, woke up with stomach ache. I had spicy food last night, curry.

Will be fine, just skipped class to drink ginger tea!

I just got back from my run. Six miles today, plus another mile of walking. It's warmer than it has been (28F) and foggy so most of my run was really pleasant, although the wind was picking up so my final mile & my cool down walk were both pretty chilly. Tomorrow's high is supposed to be -6 with dangerous wind chills, so I appreciated being able to get outside today.

Marla, I hope your stomach settles down!

Tim, are you enjoying your rest period? Or are you itching to move?

Sherry, I hope you are feeling better today, and that little crises stop popping up for you!

Hope you feel better Marla. I just finished spicy food too. Trying to knock this cold out.

Hi, Tim! Hope you are enjoying your break.

This cold is even worse after I had to get out in the rain for an emergency dental appt last night. Well, that got me about hour walk anyway (in the cold rain, ugh). Seriously, though, the cold is pretty bad now and I know there's not much I can do about it, but the spicy food (hot & sour soup and beef with ginger!) or just a dash of chili powder in hot cocoa seems to help. We also had a tragedy, as our sweet, sweet, SWEET little kitty of 16 years passed yesterday. It's just turning out to be "one of those" weeks. Better to get it over with now and start the new year off right, though.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

@Laura - Oh I'm itching to get back into the gym but I know this rest peroid is needed so my shoulder has a chance to heal up...Only a few more days then on the 1st I'm picking back up running

Sherry I'm so sorry about your kitty! One of my snotty cats is currently draped across my left arm and my stomach. She likes to snuggle when I'm trying to type.

Tim I can appreciate that feeling totally. I believe 100% in rest days, especially when you're nursing an injury (can't push your body then not take care of it), but man it's hard to take them sometimes. When I actually don't want to do anything on my rest days I know I've pushed myself as far as I can in a week.

So sorry about your kitty. I know how that feels we lost one a few years ago, we are cat people have two of them.

    Give yourself a hug!

Sorry to hear about your cat : ( Pets are truly part of the family. That will be hard.

Today I did a resistance band work out. However I switched to modify it with free weights. I was using a hard resistance band and it was troubling my shoulder.

Last night I did a black belt TKD class. It was pretty good - broke a good sweat.

Also went on a walk with husband - I had to zig-zag with dog in front of him to go slow enough. We just went around the block. I'm amazed at his recovery. It hasn't been two weeks out of surgery and he is walking around no brace and no crutches. It is going soooo much better than last time!

I hope everyone recovers this weekend from colds and injuries. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend.
