Sleep

Good morning! I just recently started wearing my bodybugg again when I found it has been upgraded and now tracks sleep. My question is about the dashboard reading. It seems as though every night I have periods of white, which is neither sleeping nor lying down. There's no explanation for what it means?

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mary Alice

White means you are fully awake.

Thanks! I couldn't find an explanation anywhere, but that makes sense looking at my results.

White typically means you are not laying down or sleeping, but sometimes white just shows up because the way you are laying causes the arm band to stop making contact with you skin for part of the night.

I asked about this on the BodyMedia FB page and was told that this happens if your body is in a position that the armband doesn't recognize as sleeping. It happens to me several times throughout the night. I assume it has something to do with me sleeping on my stomach with my arm tucked under my pillow. If I turn a little the band probably feels like it is vertical.

If you look at your activity thing you can tell if it is actually off body. Mine usually shows that it isn't.

Thanks for the replies. If I get to choose, I would choose the awake answer, but it most likely is that my arm isn't in proper contact. But you would think it would beep and I'd hear it....

Anyway, I do love tracking my sleep, and it seems pretty accurate. After a month of relative inactivity exercise-wise, I'm looking forward to getting back in the gym and comparing all my stats.

    Happy New Year all!!

It's loss of contact. I sometimes put my arms above my head and lose contact. Other times, I sleep on my side with one arm straight out under the pillow I have my head on and also lose contact. I tested the positions awake and it does happen. When my arm is under my memory foam pillow when I'm on my side, I can't hear a bloody thing when it loses contact! LOL
