Hey all. Today the coughing is just about to take me to the brink. I walked the kids to the playground and pushed them on the tilted wheel (running round & round), hoping that I'd work some stuff out of my chest. It was alot of work for very little return. I'm beginning to toy with the idea of an expectorant (which I'd rather not do, but might have to). Still sticking with daily planks and squats. I'm wondering if a run on Friday while son is at lessons would help breaks stuff loose in my chest. sigh. I know it must be the last leg of this cold, but it just cannot end soon enough!:grumble: I'm ready to get this year REALLY started.

Love to read what everyone else is doing. Great work, keep it up!

ETA: Welcome back Tim and Happy New Year to you and your wife!! Hope everything settles down for you.

Today I did a Cardio Sports Drills. I DID NOT like the side burpees. I finally have the regular ones down pat and then they throw this at me. I'm glad no one sees me doing them. And then I decided even if it's not attractive at least I'm doing them! It wasn't as bad as a workout as I thought it was going to be.

I'm going to miss being able to workout whenever I want. Teacher inservice starts tomorrow. I'm not ready to go back to school. But I will like not having access to food the entire day like I do now. Grazing is not good.

I hope you get over your cold I'm sorry that it has held on this long.

Water fast - wow, good luck - my thoughts will be with you and your wife.

Went to Nia class even though I woke up sneezing again...feeling very tired and like cold coming on again. Stopped and wondered why my immune has been so bad last few months, realized I usually take extra D in fall and winter since I am not out as much and I forgot to take it and I ran out of my regular ones and probably not getting enough C.

So we are going out for errands and I am going to load up with extra vitamins.

    Sherry I feel your pain!!

Tim! Nice to see you again. How's the shoulder healing?

Sherry I think you might be right about the expectorant. I don't know if you have Mucinex over there but I swear by it. It's expensive, but man it works.

jenmck5, I can't even imagine side burpees! That sounds really difficult. Nice job getting them done!

Marla, I hope you don't end up getting another cold. I take extra D in the fall/winter months too, and lots of extra C. Did your stomach settle down?

After 6 days off I was back to reality too. Busy day at work after being off for nearly a week. Spent most of the day sitting at my desk having to think way too hard. Was totally ready to get to the gym. I started on the elliptical for my warm-up cardio but my right knee has been acting up lately and that didn't feel very good, so I moved to the treadmill. Started at a brisk walk and then moved to a slower walk and my knee finally started cooperating. My trainer had me working legs, shoulders & obliques, although he took it a little easy on me when I told him I was still sore from Monday & Tuesday's workouts.

We have a "hold out over the holidays" competition at the gym - you weigh in before Thanksgiving & after New Year's and if you haven't gained more than 2 pounds you get a free t-shirt. I lost 5. Yay!

Laura, I had two healthy days then bam, got cold all at once. You all must think I am a sicky but this is not normal for me, I usually only get sick a few times a year.

I bought lots of vitamins and healthy food. I have to exercise daily for a challenge I am in but will walk slowly until this is better.
