Happy with a pound, it's what I'm aiming for each week and this is a short week. I feel on track with exercise and getting there with food - back to normality today and trying to focus on drinking more water each day this week.

My loss of 6.4 lb this week is probably due to loss of a bit of water weight. I am doing the Whole 30 (www.whole9life.com), an elimination plan for 30 days which takes out inflammatory foods and challenges me to break my binging habits/ stops my carb/sweet cravings. I am also doing Leslie Sansone DVDs almost everyday for a walk indoors during the cold snowy weather.0 -

About 20 folks so far have logged their weights and adjusted the spreadsheet to incorporate the formula's for their row. Well done folks. I will assume everyone knows how to access and enter data on the spreadsheet, if you are having trouble send me a direct message. I will rely on folks to enter their own data, I'll ensure the spreadsheet formulas are working on all rows if you aren't already doing that.
Momma is already a third of the way to her goal and nearly at maintenance level, WTG!! Some of us have further to go (especially me), so keep your pace and run your own race. Expect some regression and plateaus along the way.

My Jan 1 weight is a little bit of an estimation based on a different scale, and a day or two earlier than the 1/1 date. Since I've returned home and started using my own scale again, I've consistently weighed in at 135, which is UP 3 lbs from my Christmas Challenge end weight of 132. I suppose I should be more embarrassed/ashamed of that, but meh. I was on a 2-week vacation and exercised a decent amount of restraint despite what the numbers may look like. I've been back home and on track since Jan 3, so I'm confident the weight will start to drop again soon!0 -
OK, this is a bit crazy. I was at an inexplicable plateau for the month of December . . . this week I had an equally inexplicable free-fall. The good news is that I smashed through my goal weight for the X-Mas Challenge.

I weighed on the house scales this morning but I am not sure if they are accurate. I am going to weigh again tomorrow morning on a set of digital scales that are calibrated on a regular basis and I know they are accurate. I will then post my accurate weight.
Overall, I am happy with my progress now matter what. I have logged my exercise and food on a daily basis. I have stayed within my allotted calories and fat grams. I have been able to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day...most of the days last week I exercised for 60+ minutes! Ready to take on Week 2!!!:happy:0 -

For the month of January my weight loss is going to be a little more than usual. I will probably gain a little back in February. For the month of January my wife is doing a fast and I decided to do it along with her for encouragement. I have been eating nothing but veggies and fruits. When I start back eating meat I will probably gain some of the weight back.

Ah Blackhat ... don't tempt me! I am trying to find a change of diet for life ... but it is interesting to see how well a veggie and fruit diet works.
I found this week easi-ish ... as the motivation is still fresh, although none of the awesome starts that you guys have done!

Not too surprised. Haven't had a normal week by any stretch! TOM and
have had 3-5 grandkids for 6 of the laast 7 days, only got to exercise 1 day. Now were snowed in, around a foot, below 0 temps and 30-40 below wind chills. Looking forwar to Wednesday when things will get better and I can get out again! Expecting a better number next week.0 -

Here's what I decided to do: since I obviously did not lose all that weight in the past week, I just adjusted my starting weight so that my one-week weight loss is 2 lbs - which is more reasonable. My new chart looks like this:
SW: 370
CW: 269
GW: 263
January 1: 269
January 6: 267

No reason to be more than 1/3 of the way to goal in less than a full week. Now I just need to keep at it and avoid the plateau!0 -

a gain of 1.2 lbs this week. which is okay for me. yesterday was my first day back to logging after the holidays, so this is more of a starting weight in my mind. hopefully I'll see it go the opposite direction next week!0 -

Tuesday morning stats:
80 members entered the challenge
56 have entered userid on the Google spreadsheet (70%)
Of the 56, 42 have entered 1/6/14 weight so far (75% or 53% of total members)
The previous Christmas Challenge had about 90% attrition, I expect the same here. Will you stick it out?0
