I went once with a friend from work many years ago. I thought it was kind of fun. It's a quick in-and-out workout so maybe fits more schedules than some other types of exercise. My observation at that time, though, was that all the women there were quite a bit overweight. Okay, so could it be possible that they were all new and just hadn't gotten slim yet? Anything that gets us moving is good in my opinion.0

A friend of mine goes to our local Curves. She was eating right and working out faithfully, but wasn't seeing the same results as I. One day I introduced her to Leslie Sansone DVD and she loved it. She said she hadn't had a workout like that in quite a while. She then introduced it to the Curves instructor and she liked it so much they added to their program. All I know is after that, my friend started noticing changes....finally!! This is only my opinion, but I think she wasn't getting a 'good enough' workout with them. She still goes faithfully and loves her time there, but I have noticed that she doesn't workout at the same intensity that I do with my local YMCA. :flowerforyou:0

I have been going to Curves for quite awhile. It is a quick 30 minute work out which works well with my work schedule. I have met a wonderful group of ladies there and I know sometimes we "talk" more and you lose concentration on your workout but you get out of your workout what you put into it. I think most Curves have a free try out period so I would give it a try and see if it is something you would like!0

Any workout is a good one, if you are sedentary now. I used to really lie it but after a while had to move up in the fitness world.0

I have not been to curves but to a similar circuit workout place for women. It is a great place to start but you may want to move into something more challenging later. I would not buy a long term membership.Usually you can try it for a week before you decide and then you will know how challenging it is for you.0

I tried it several years ago and I didn't care for it. I didn't break a sweat and I like moving faster during my workouts. The ladies there were quite a bit older and pretty overweight. A lot of others do like it, but it just wasn't for me.0

I went for 9 years till our Curves closed up. Now there is no Curves in the area. It is a good combination of strength and cardio. It is quick. The atmosphere is great. If you are looking to develop some real muscle, you won't do it there, though.
There are new things going on at Curves now that I was not involved in, so check it out and see what you think. It can't hurt.0 -
