Coconut milk

So maybe it's a silly question, but is there any way that I can make my own coconut milk? Yes, I live in Barbados where coconuts abound, but I don't think they are the right ones. We only seem to get coconut water and then jelly from our coconuts and then that's all they're good for.
Is there a certain coconut that I need to source to get/make milk from it?
Stances on canned/powdered coconut milk??

I make mine pretty much like this: http://www.rawmazing.com/fresh-raw-coconut-milk/
I don't live in the tropics so use whatever coconuts I can get at the supermarket and it always taste great! No additives like sugar or emulsifiers and no BPA from cans.0 -
The coconuts with jelly are young or green coconuts. They will get fleshier as they mature. You would have to find some that were allowed to contiue to grow to maturity.0
