I am feeling back to normal today after a yucky bit of strep throat. I did CVX before work with my hubby and we both did pretty good. I brought a salad for lunch and didn't touch one piece of candy or cupcake even with two student birthdays today!! Yay me!!
I have a coworker who's trying to lose 70 pounds and needs a little encouragement so I did T25 with her after school. That workout is crazy!! I forgot how much I LOVE it!!
Anyhow, enough rambling!! Overall, great day!!

It's great to hear you are back to normal, Angie.
Today was my first day back to work since the infamous "Polar Vortex" decimated the entire Northern Hemisphere. As a weather forecaster, it cracks me up how the media adds doomsday adjectives to what we simply call an Arctic outbreak. I hear the words "Polar Vortex" and I imagine Dennis Quaid finding his way through a frozen NYC or a sequel to "Sharknado" with polar bears landing on unsuspecting victims. Anyway, everyone was allowed to report to work a few hours later than normal, so I had a relaxing breakfast and gave myself two hours to make the 25-minute journey.
The roads were not good at all. Basically packed ice underneath packed snow. I saw one poor guy at an intersection, trying to move, his wheels spinning helplessly while his car went absolutely no where. I wondered what scientists would make of him when they discover him in a block of ice thousands of years from now. There was also the obligatory rear-ending, although this one involved four vehicles. By the time I made it to work, it had taken me 70 minutes. Not bad, after all, I made it safely, right? I even had time after work to go to the Commissary and stock up on necessities including eggs, milk, and bread. YAY!
Got home and had a squirrel moment. By that I mean I went to put my exercise clothes on, saw my laptop, thought of something I wanted to research on the internet and.... SQUIRREL! I eventually pulled myself away from the laptop and completed Agility X.
Keep pressing play!

Isometrix for me today. It's week 4, so 'recovery' week, though I feel like I don't need it as much with this program as opposed to p90x when I was dying for it. I added in a few minutes on the elliptical tonight -- needed low/no impact since I feel shin splints coming on and I have foot problems that running makes worse. Doc told me to 'do what you can while you can' so I try to run thru the pain, but can only take so much.
I only have 7 weeks until Hawaii!! Hubby and I go almost yearly and I am hellbent that I will NOT buy a one piece swimsuit. As of today, there is no way I could put on a bikini and be comfortable so I have a LOT of work to do in 7 weeks!
I've been doing better with nutrition this week. I really see, now that I'm tracking regularly, where my problems were......just sucks because I LOVE COOKIES!! I have one each day for 'dessert' after lunch and that's all for the entire day. Normally I would have 2 or 3 at lunch and another 2 or three after work....thats an extra 400-600 calories that I was adding right onto my butt and tummy. I also cut out one of my 2 coffees since I add a lot of creamer (one of my 'non-real-foods' that I haven't been willing to give up!).
Can't wait to start month 2 of the program next week!!!!0 -
You guys are doing awesome!! It's nice to know others have cookie problems and squirrel moments too!! I have both too often!!0

Mike, I'm from The South (Tennessee) and even I think the doomsday terms used for weather like this is amusing and I totally agree with your movie sequels.
Angie, way to go with the 2 workouts in one day. I'm pretty sure I'd be a puddle on the floor after that.
So far I haven't made it all the way through any of the workouts except Yoga but I can tell you that they're working for sure. I tried P90X when it came out and found that when I pushed through it I was so sore the next day(s) that I just gave up trying to keep going. This time I'm going until I can't lift a foot/arm/leg and then calling it. So far it's worked well and I've done 4 days straight. I'll get stronger and get through more and more of them.
Today is CVX and I'm looking forward to and dreading it. The workouts are so much fun but brutal at the same time. I doubt I'm the ideal candidate for this program since i'm sooooo out of shape but I used to be in excellent shape and my brain doesn't seem to give up that idea so this is fun. I also loved Les Mills Combat. Everyone I know thinks I'm crazy.
