So i realize most crossfitters hands get sweaty hands so they use chalk or gloves or whatever, but I have the opposite problem. My hands are so dry i can't keep grip. I literally have to lick my hands (eww gross) to get some moisture to grip the bar... I obv clean off the bar after for others lol... I'm hoping for a solution that doesn't involve me spitting lol... I've just never been a person that sweats no matter how hard I workout.. ( i do in the clevage, but might look odd rubbing my boobs before pull ups lol)
Anyone else have issues like this? suggestions?

I have a similar problem regarding sweat... but my palms get very sweaty... weird!
In your case however I would have thought that it would be advantageous... that you would have more grip..0 -
what kind of grip are you doing? thumb around the bar or thumb on the same side as the rest of the fingers? thumb around will give you more grip.0

I do both.. whatever grips better at that moment .0 -
I saw something (probably on here) about hand care that suggested using some of that running anti-chafing stuff on your hands, then chalking over it. Supposedly let you slide and prevented tears but still gave a good grip.0

mine never get sweaty, they definitely are dry when i'm on the bar, but it's never been a grip issue. I don't use chalk, but I have once and definitely had an even better grip. You can use the chalk even though you're not sweaty. Have you tried that? maybe it will help0

I've tried using chalk and gloves and tape.. it makes it even more dry and i slide right on off0 -
man that blows...my only other suggestion is to maybe bring a little spray or spritz bottle of water that you could use?0

Don't think I've ever heard of someone having this problem... My hands sweat the usual amount lol but I never use chalk coz, even though it makes it easier to grip, it shreds my hands even worse than if they're bare.
When I started and my grip strength left a lot to be desired, I used to use rubber grip strips to hold on to the bar. The sort of stuff you use as a draw liner or to stop chopping boards from moving on kitchen bench, etc. Have a look at the image below. I used to buy it from $2 shop but you can buy it in rolls and cut to size which is probably better long term coz each piece doesn't last too long before falling apart...

Just another thought. Even with dry hands, my hands won't slip off the bar until they get tired.
Maybe your grip just isn't very strong? Is that the possible problem?0 -

we have certain bars that have different feeling that i stay on better, but my hands don't tear so thats not the issue. Sometimes that bar isn't avail though. Looks like I'll be sticking with the spit lol0 -
How about if you moisturized your hands with lotion before you went? Or, would that make your hands too soft?0
