Keto Question

Hello! I recently started eating a LCHF diet after reading that it has helped women with PCOS lose weight. I'm happy to say that after my first week on Keto I have lost 6lbs! YAY! However, one question that I did have is that according to my scale my body fat percentage went up 1% is this normal? I am going to do my measurements again tonight when my husband gets home, I can tell that my clothes are fitting better, so is this just a fluke or should I expect my body fat to possibly go up until I am keto adapted?

I know they are not as accurate as checking blood ketones, but I have been using the ketostix and have been moderate or higher for most of this week.

Just looking for some clarity :-)

Thanks!

    Congrats on the lifestyle change!

Bodyfat on scales can be off by a lot. If you measure yourself a hour later, you're likely to get yet another number. My bodyfat is 19.8 (dexa scan), but my home scale shows 37%.

Initially, focus on body measurements, that will be your best measure of improvement (I hate weight as a measure). If you're really interested in your bodyfat percentage, get a scan.
