Well its been awhile for me! Since way before Christmas...if anyone even remembers me! haha I am still alive and well, still exercising and still struggling with the food part. Gained a couple of lbs over the holidays even with all my exercise, and its time I got back here and to posting.

Saturday I ran 8Km outside, which for here lately there hasn't been too many outdoor runs. The weather has been bad and I've mostly been on the treadmill. Last night was my strength/cardio class. We did a thing she calls 20/20/20. Cardio/Strength/Abs. I am definitely feeling it in my arms this morning.

Hoping to get out for a run this morning, the sun is shining and its blue sky. Not sure of the temp, but I think its do-able.

Have a great day everyone, hope you can get some exercise in!

Today is my water day! Yeah! I've got water aerobics class tonight and I try to get in 15 to 20 minutes of lap swimming before it starts. I really like this particular class, because Desi, the normal instructor really pushes us. This is not an easy hour at all!

    Enjoy your run, maureli !

This morning I started my 5x5 Strong Lift Program I did Workout A. Starting with 3x a week along with running my normal 5K's. Overall burned 839 calories in just under 90 mins.

Welcome back maureli! I've been getting outside for my weekend runs but have been stuck on the TM during the week too.

    Enjoy your class Donna!

    Tim, how's the shoulder feeling?

I'll head to the gym straight after work & should be able to fit in a 2 mile run on the treadmill before my trainer workout. I'm kind of dragging right now from my quick weekend trip, so hopefully I catch a second wind.

Today's quote is a good one for me.

Maureli's baaaack!! I had figured you were busy with your boys over the holiday, and I'm very glad you are back!

    Have a great workout Donna!

Tim, I have to admit I'm a little jealous. I've wanted to do SL5x5 for nearly a year now and I just can't seem to get it to come together. I don't want to start anything that I can't do consistently and I know that right now I can't do it consistently. :frown: Even today, I was at the gym and it wasn't very crowded at all EXCEPT the weight section which is the size of a postage stamp and had the most people trying to workout there. sigh. Anyway, I know I'll get to it someday (maybe when lil girl gets into school and I can hit the gym during the down hours). Best of luck to you on it. I"m sure you'll get some great strength gains out of it.

Today I dropped my son at his tutor and ran to the gym, did a leg workout and then ran back to the tutor and finished with a walking lap around the park. Total run time was only 25min (12 1/2 each way). Leg workout was okay, but I was playing around with weight/reps, trying to find the right combo. Apparently I'm stronger than I thought. Honestly though, at one point I saw the squat rack looking very lonely and I shoulda just went and did some squats with the OlyBar, but I've been sick and "out of it" for so long that I was a little scared (I've never squatted an OlyBar and I just don't know how heavy and hard to balance it is going to be--such a long bar!). Anyway, after the workout and seeing how much stronger my legs are than I thought, I know now that I shoulda done it. Despite the weight section always being pretty cramped, the squat rack is usually pretty neglected. I might try to throw in progressive squats w/the OlyBar 3x/wk, since that is the heart of the Stronglifts program anyway. Once again, despite still having a nagging cough that wakes me up at night, I'm just sooooOOOooooo glad to be on the mends finally!!!

Have a great start to the week folks!!

Well I did manage 8K this morning, however my legs were feeling quite tired. I had to push myself to do 8Km, almost gave in at the 6K mark. Oh well, it is done and I am feeling great now. lol

Hey Sherry!!! - I was actually kind of scared to come back here to find that the group had fizzled over Christmas, but alas...it is still alive and people are still at it (except me...lol) Sounds like you got in a good workout, nothing wrong with a 25 minute run! That is great, and you will do that Olybar next time!!

Donna - enjoy your water class, it sounds great. I use to go to a class similar years ago when my kiddo's were little. You certainly can burn a lot of calories.

Tim - great job with the strong lift program, I can only imagine the benefits you will get. Great calorie burn!

Laura - hi there, and thanks for the welcome back! For me, running outside is just a good "head" thing, it puts my mind in a good place. lol I feel so much different after an outdoor run than a treadmill run.

    Have a great day everyone!!

@ Laura - My shoulder was feeling a lot better this morning I hope it holds up after laying off of it for the most part for the last three weeks. I still have lingering pain here and there but I know its better then it was.

@ Sherry - SL 5x5 Program is actually harder then I thought it would be...I enjoyed it but boy was I tired after doing it for an hour then came the Run after I was already tired was winded after mile two lol but I pushed on and made it to the 5K mark

    @ Maureli - Welcome Back!

Maureli I can relate still struggle with food but love exercise.

I fast walked/jogged in the rain yesterday had to get out of house, but then I went to sports bar to watch football and there went the food part!

not sure what exercise today but I will definitely be doing something.

Today, I did not really try. I'll admit that. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get up early to exericse, but with work I'll need to hop out of bed about 4am. Maybe I can do the stairs at work more too, nice thing about a plant is there are lots of stairs.

Brighter note is my legs are sore from yesterday's work out and I did a lot of walking around work.

Hi pals!! Haven't been on this thread in a while and for that I am sorry also for that I have done poorly with my eating and exercising  :embarassed:
So Sunday night I gave myself a good talking to!!! I have finally realized I am NOT a child!!! I am an ADULT,,,,adults don't should not be over indulging in oreos, chips, MacDonald's, etc!!! Also as an adult about to turn 50 I have to be my conscientious of staying active and eating healthy food....soooo after this long discussion with myself and the self-realization and with all this being said I had a GREAT HEALTHY Monday
Will definitely work on being more active with this group!
