Figuring out daily caloric needs

Is there anyone who really knows how to get this? I seem to get variations and have changed it up a few times, but nothing has been the magic number yet so I know I am right. I would love if someone would teach me the correct equation, or maybe figure it for me so I can tell if I have the correct calorie target for me...

When I first started MFP, it told me that my daily calories were 1200. I did that for a while and lost quite a bit, then I just stopped losing. I had read other posts in the forums about TDEE and decided to give it a try. So far it's working really well for me. I've only had to adjust it twice.
Sometimes you just have to play around with the numbers until you find something that works for you. The link below will explain it more.
