Exercise Regimes

Wondering what everyone's exercise regime is? With it being after new year and me quitting 2 very bad habits I've thrown myself into the gym. They recently started a Bootcamp class once a week which I absolutely LOVE! It's painful but everyone that's there is suffering the same pain! I joined crossfit too but I haven't had the nerve to go yet. After seeing pictures of the workouts on FB I'm crapping myself about going! LOL Just trying to get myself into a routine really about exercising early in the morning. I'm up at 4:30 for work and not home till at least 6. I work as a nanny so the kids are in school all day, still so tired in the am and tired by the time I leave work. Urgh.
Just about to head out for a run with the dog right now though.

I belong to a Curves gym. I do the Curves circuit four days a week--resistance training and it's only 30 minutes and then do 30 minutes or so of cardio at home. On off days I either use my stationary bike, elliptical or do a Jillian Michael's video. I also walk my dogs a mile most days. When the weather is good, I'll go on longer hikes at nearby parks on the weekends.0

I use my elliptical 30 to 45 minutes followed by strength training with dumbbells and my own body weight for about 25 minutes 6 days a week ????0

I'm about to join crossfit! There are no other gyms around my area. The closest gym is about an hour drive away. I'm not willing to spend money on gas or catch a bus. lol Anyways, I'm excited about it. I did visit the box today after work. There was a 6pm class going on. It definitely looked tough and the guy says "It's just warm up, so, yeah it's definitely fun!" LOL. Yeeeah. >.>
My goal is to go there at least 3 days a week but I'm gonna aim for 5. Other than that, I do Jump Rope Intervals for 10 minutes everyday, and strength train with body weight and dumbbells every other day (3x a week). I don't really do much else. I used to brisk walk/Jog about 3 miles. But can't seem to keep that consistent. After the Holidays, that sort of stopped. Eventually, I'll be adding in walks if I feel the WOD's don't do me justice.0 -
I'm trying to keep things simple cos I have a habit of over-complicating things then giving up and doing nothing!
So... I'm walking 10,000 steps a day (using fitbit to count which is why my calorie allowance in my diary sometimes looks enormous - fitbit syncs the excess 'exercise' cals to my MFP).
Plus I'm swimming three days a week - aiming for about 135 minutes in total over the week.
I need to factor in some strength training soon but for now I'm finding I can keep to this routine just fine so I don't want to mess with it!0 -
I walk on my two 15 minute breaks everyday at work. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I also do weights for about 30 minutes. It's not a lot but it's better than nothing! I'm hoping to start running again once the weather gets nicer!0

When I'm in the gym I do half an hour of strength training followed by 10km on the bike, 10-15mins on elliptical and 20-40 mins walling on the Treadmill. I've also just started adding 5-10 mins on the Rower. The number of times I go in a week varies but I was going 2-3 times per week depending on how busy I was. One of my goals in this challenge is to go at least 3 times per week no matter what.
I'm also aiming to walk my dog at least 5 days a week (about a mile a day).
I've got the Chalean extreme and turbojam workout programs that I might dip into occasionally but I'm not holding myself to that0 -
I'm doing an assortment of workouts at home since I have a bunch of DVDs that are good and our TV has exercise apps that are pretty fun, too. I have several Hip Hop Abs, Zumba, and Kettlebell DVDs so I don't get too bored. I used to be a gym class groupie in the evenings, but for the past few years something clicked and now I can jump out of bed and do 30-40 minuted before heading to work. I never had the strength to do that before. Anyway, I also walk the dog around the neighborhood, weather permitting. I am trying to add walking up and down the stairs in my office at least a couple times a week, too, schedule permitting. I am on the 10th floor and there are 22 floors in my building...so I try to go to the top, alll the way down, and back to my desk...whew! That kills my sugar craving and the need for an mid afternoon nap fast! LOL :explode:
Good luck on Crossfit! I would love to do that, but it looks mighty intense and that is just not what I am into right now.0 -

If swimming works for you, perhaps you can look up some exercises to do in the water that will help with strength training. The water resistance will be a big benefit.0 -

I workout five or six times a week and walk four miles in 60 minutes or ride the recumbent for 45 minutes on those days. I'm part of several challenges including a Fitbit challenge where I'm going to try for 10,000 steps even on my REST DAYs.
