WHAT'S FOR LUNCH

There are a gazillion diets out there. I just recently considered doing the new Rocco Dispirito's one - I think it's called A Pound A Day but you only eat around 700 or 800 calories. I have tried low carb and that just makes me even more tired and crabby. However, I can't eat salads everyday. I did have to give up ice cream since it is like a drug and I can eat a whole gallon if I start. I would like to know what others are eating. Fat free foods are loaded with sugar. I have been eating half a sandwich on whole grain bread for lunch or a salad. Dinner isn't too hard because it is usually meat and veggies and breakfast is easy as well.

Any suggestions for healthy/low cal lunches that don't involve fat-free cheese or salads?

Soups, stews, chilis! Lots of soups, stews, chilis are healthy and fit right into a clean eating life style. If you buy it make sure the sodium isn't crazy. If you can make you own double the batch and freeze some. Great for quick lunches.

I agree with the soups, stews, chili's. And I love them!

I have to say that I think 700-800 calories is too low, though.
  • Soups, Chicken Breasts, and wraps are my "go-to" lunches. My favorites are the wraps. I use low cal and carb wraps and load it with veggies, lettuce, chicken or turkey.
  • Great suggestions - thank you ladies

I like the suggestions as well. I need to do more planning. I work from home, and you would think that would be in my favor. Unfortunately, I often end up grabbing things that are fast and easy to grab by the handful (chips or cookies are two of my poor choices). I love soup, so I am going to try to plan this next week with soup every day for lunch. I might even make up some salad ahead of time to go with it. Thanks a bunch!
