Today I did lean abs. It feels great to work on my core. Going to TKD class - instructing again tonight. I miss walking outside. It's so cold though.0

Laura, isn't it nice to find "a thing"...like a hobby, way-of-life, obsession (lol), or whatever, to really enjoy PLUS see so many real, physical benefits. "Keep it up" indeed. :-)
eee, Marla, that accident with your toe really makes me cringe. At least it doesn't seem to need a doctor, as long as you rest it and don't accidentally make it worse.
Jen, I think either you've been time-travelling or jumped into the wrong thread yesterday. haha! Good job with the lean abs!!
Okay, so lucky me. There's a break in the rain and it is flat out gorgeous here today (although it might be a bit windy by the sea). Just in time for my run day. So, the plan is to take my son to his lessons and do my big run down to the coast and add another tram stop to my distance. Will keep ya posted. :happy:0 -
Well, all my plans for today got turned upside down. I honestly don't know why I bother to "make plans". But I did get a run, but had to start from home, so only about the last 10 minutes was by the beach, instead of 30 minutes. That's okay though, just trying to reach the beach and see the water kept me going through the city and highways. For those of you having really cold weather, I don't know if it hurts or helps to know this, but it was very sunny and bright and warm here today. I ran just shy of 5.5mi. I used to consistently clock 5.2mph, and now I'm consistently clocking 5.4mph for the past couple months. So, I ran exactly an hour and it measured out to about 5.48mi, per walkjogrun.net (where I map my favorite runs). I'm happy with that.
Hope everyone has a great day today!0 -
With my slip on shoes I can walk with almost no pain so still resting mostly, doing a bit of housework so not totally down.
My left leg hurts more now, think I messed some muscles from balancing wrong.
After this I will defintely be more careful with my feet!! I miss my dancing class.0 -
Sherry your run sounds wonderful, even if it wasn't the one you planned on. At least you were able to get one in! It's great that your speed is increasing too. I was a fairly slow runner over the summer & fall and have just gotten more so during the winter - running on the treadmill still feels unnatural to me so my pace is slower than it would be outside (plus my trainer makes me use at least a 1.0 incline because running with 0 incline is hard on your hips), and running on snow also slows you down. I'm hoping once I'm back out on clear roads my pace will pick up again.
Marla I'm glad you're seeing some improvement! It's easy to hurt yourself somewhere else while compensating for an injury.
I've got a trainer session tonight. Wednesday is my late night with him and ordinarily I would run before but I'm doing Tuesday/Thursday this week instead, so I have time to run home first. It's just so hard to get myself back out the door again, especially when it's cold & dark out.0 -
oops I posted on the wrong day yesterday. Today I did cardio sculpt. Decent day. Warmer. Wanted to stress eat though.0

Metabolic Conditioning today! Had a lot of fun doing various cardio and strength exercises at the fitness studio. One hour of exercise done!
Sounds like a nice run, Sherry. I envy you the route and the weather. I'm already tired of it being so cold and there still is plenty of winter left.
Marta, hope you toe gets back to normal as quickly as possible.
Nice getting to the workouts, Laura and Jen!0 -
Hope you were able to fight off the stress eating Jen! The past couple of days I've just wanted to snack. Got the munchies. The lady who sits next to me at work was eating chips & dip today and she was happily crunching away. It was TORTURE. I haven't mastered moderation yet on chips & dip so I practice avoidance for now.
Glad you're enjoying the metabolic conditioning class Donna! Great you found a class you like to use your pass on.0
