Hi all! I'm Jenn, 31 years old from sunny Northern California (seriously...we need some rain!). And the million dollar question: I weigh 353.8 pounds as of this morning. I am down from 364.6 pounds on January 1st.
I am happily married to a wonderful man. We will celebrate our 11 year anniversary this April. I am a mom to twin 3 year old girls, and have a fur-baby boy (my puppy, Puck). I teach a 7/8 grade combo class, and try to enjoy all of life that I can. When it really comes down to it, the thing I enjoy least about my life at the moment is myself. Let me rewind a bit...
I've always been the biggest girl. In school, in work, at church. I'm just the big girl. I own it, and use my humor, sarcasm, and (let's be honest) charm to my advantage. I am not going to blame my parent's divorce, or my mom coming out when I was 10, or any other excuse as a reason why I am so heavy. It's pretty simple: I like to eat and dislike working out. Let me rephrase that: I LOVE FOOD and the gym sucks.
However, as we were planning our girls' birthday trip to Disneyland in 2015, I realized that I would not be able to ride the Fantasyland rides with them. Sure, I can fit into them on my own, but to squeeze a little girl in besides me would just be too much. I started having horrible flashbacks to spring break at Six flags, when I had to stand outside of all of the rides and watch my husband and mother-in-law ride everything with MY babies.
So I decided to buckle down and really do this thing. I've started and stopped in the past, but I'm now in a high stakes situation. I am doing this so that I can be a better mom, and be there for all the events in my girls' lives. I have no delusions about being a size 4. My doctor laughed at me when I told her maybe 165 would be a good weight for me. Given my large body frame, she told me to shoot for more like 200 and see if I want to lose more than that.
So here I am. Nothing special. Nothing fantastic. Just a mom on a mission: 215 by 2015. I can do this. I WILL do this!
