Nutrition before the long run

Does anyone eat differently eg more carbs in the day or hours before your long run of the week?

    yes! I usually enjoyed a bagel in the morning before my long runs or allowed for more of a 'carby' dinner the night before. Nothing too big but I was more mindful about fueling for it than any other run I did:)

    I spend the 3-4 days prior hydrating (not just the night before) so it has time to thoroughly work its way into all the tissues. I like having white rice sushi for dinner the night before a long run/race. On a long run I usually don't eat breakfast before I go, i'll have a Clif Gel (mocha...yum!) and Black Cherry Shot Blocs throughout and a protein/fruit smoothie after. On race day i'll have protein/fruit smoothie 1½-2 hours before the race.
