How do you log?

Hi C25Kers,

I was just wondering how everyone logs their cardio from this. I don't have a HRM, and I run outside since I don't have a treadmill or gym. I try to run the same way, so I don't have to hit too many streetlights (I live in a major city), and I figure out how many miles I've gone on Google Maps. I have a stopwatch going from the time I leave my apartment until I make it back, and then I figure out my mph for the whole trip.

Just curious how everyone figures out their calorie burn...

I use my HRM but if you know your MPH then using MFP estimates is good. Its usually kinda close. I wouldn't eat back all the calories just in case its off.

I downloaded Map My Run, since it's free. That said I was actually going 5mph instead of 4mph. Either way, I'm probably not going to eat all of my exercise calories anyway.

Maybe someday I'll have money for food scale or HRM. But for now, I'll have to make do with my free stuff.
