I haven't started on it just yet, but I'll be sure to post mine once I finish it. I'm going to be doing Aquila Yuna from Saint Seiya Omega.

I'm going as Dragon-Trainer Lulu from League of Legends. But I haven't gotten much of it finished beyond the hat.

I have a "quickie" costume for the next con:

    - A fake tail wrapped around the waist
    -Blue jeans
    -Scouter from DBZ
-My old work boots (size 15 steel-toed monsters - they make good intimidating boots)
-A black sleeveless shirt with the words "OFF DUTY SAIYAN" on the back.

    ... yep, I'm lazy.

IF I meet my first weight loss goal I will be re-vamping my Sister's of Battle (Warhammer 40k) costume and my Steampunk Golden Age Catwoman costume for Dragon*Con this year.

AND hopefully a generic post apocalyptic road warrior type costume.

That's so cool, While I do Annabeth Chase from the Percy Jackson series right now I want to lose weight, I feel like that would make it better.

This is one of the shots of me as Robert Baratheon from Game of Thrones last year at Dragoncon. Enjoyed the heck out of it, but it was one of the few big guy characters out there that I felt my body type would fit. Working on fixing that now, and hoping to get a Star Trek Next Generation Klingon costume all put together.

Hey everyone! New to the group here. I'm hoping to make myself a Defendor (female version) costume for Begining of May.

Though not too sure where to find a WWII German Heltmet replica for cheap. Any suggestions?

What about an army surplus store? Do you have those?
I ended up finding an army uniform store really close by and got a nice plastic military helmet for 25$.
Now I'm just waiting on the "swat belt" from online. I'm risking not getting it in time, but It's a risk I'm willing to take!
I'll post pics if I get the whole thing together :)

NICE!! I prefer found objects that can be purchased rather than sewing. I HATE my sewing machine. HATE.

Gorgeous! How did you make this?
this was LD45 plastazote foam, a heat gun and a little patience :)

After shaping, to you seal it with a lacker or soemthing before painting?
    Do you use acrylics?
It's a method that varies from person to person but I usually seal it with the heat gun, then use decorators sealant to smooth out any hard lines or where 'welded joins' would be (if that makes sense).

Then 50/50 wood glue/water with a sponge as this is the fastest application method and leaves no streaks.

About five coats of this or more, you can speed up drying time with a hairdryer. Then it is ready for paint, I undercoat it with matt black car spray paint first as it is pretty cheap then I top coat it with Plastikote spray - usually two light coats otherwise you get spray burn.

Once that is done you can get to your detailing work and drybrushing/highlighting and then I think on this one I will also throw some extra coats of PVA on top or plastidip spray to seal the outer but not too sure yet.

Hope this helps - I did all this with little to no experience so it's easy enough.
