I've had a pretty full on weekend, starting with dinner on Friday night for Valentines Day and then last night went to a very cool movie theatre in town where you lie on mattresses to watch the movie followed by a trendy vegetarian restaurant, but I didn't drink any alcohol, so that cut down on calories. Had a quiet day at home today not doing much at all, I really need a rest, but I'll be back at the gym in the morning and planning a good week ahead. I'm still quite focussed on where I want to be at the end of this challenge and feel pretty good.
Hope you all had a great weekend and look forward to hearing what everyone has planned for this week.

Morning all
I must admit I fell of the wagon last week  I am determined to stay on track this week. So I was up at 5 am and went to Spin class and I will be off to Bodypump at 9.
My goals this week is to try and keep up with all the lovely people in the group!!
Have a fantastic week everyone.0 -
Hey everyone...
Here is my slightly less wiggle dance for the week!
I'm very happy with my 1kg loss again this week.. it was done with NO exercise.. extremely busy week.. and 2 days so fatigued I could not lift myself out of bed
I reached my challenge goal of 89.9 early in the week.. and have now decided i will definitely push myself to get to the 80kg mark by the end of this challenge!
What goals did you kick this week?
This week was a pretty crap week as far as diet and exercise goals go.
Although I still lost weight.. but I did No Exercise..skipped lots of meals and ate crappy food.. but I still counted what I ate and stopped when i got to 1200.
and with all my going out of the house I ended up fatigue'ing my MS so hard that I was not able to get out of bed Fri and Sat. I guess the goal kicked.. is .. even tho I had a "bad" week.. I still managed to loose weight
I also managed to get a number of Invites for dinner on Friday Night all of which I promptly turned down in objection to the commercialism of romantic gesture.. I believe this is still a win.. as I got the invites!
If I had accepted I would have had to cancel anyways due to not being able to move on Friday
My Neuro Appointment on Tuesday was filled with positive news.. with no Permanent Nerve damage from my last MS Flare
(my electro-response is considered "Normal" for a Normal (Non MS) Person)
He doesn't want to see me for 6 months
I attended 2.5 sessions at MS Australia.. learning about dealing with General MS, Fatigue and Sleepless nights.. and in the process got a chance to meet others with MS at different stages of the illness.. It fulfilled 2 Goals.. I was out there meeting people (maybe not for dating.. but still out there) and it improved my attitude about my future with MS and therefor wanting to loose this weight.
How do you feel?
I'm proud of my achievements so far..
i've lost so much weight.. and I'm nearly to my next MAJOR Goal..
I got out of the house and met some people.. and It gave me a real high
I went to a social function where all the food was "bad" and managed to curve my eating to eat just what I needed even tho it was the most tempting food.. I didnt overeat!!
What are you going to improve on next week?
I need to try and do some exercise.. I'm not enjoying the treadmill, and I know I can loose weight without it. so I'm not going to push myself to get on there anymore.. . I'll concentrate on things like squats, planks, crunches and push-ups etc , that will give me a small amount of resistance training and help tone a little bit..
I'm going to keep trying to be social.. but try and observe my limits between time "out and about" and resting so that I don't end up Fatigued and wasting another weekend in bed
Hope you are all have a good week

Hi everyone, hope you are all starting off the week well.
Congrats on your weight loss this week Allie - you sound very positive and on track.
Sweetysmum - Well done on getting up for spin class! Glad you're back on the wagon this week!
I did pretty well last week: got in my 4 runs, squash, and 1 bodyweight strength session.
This week, my plan looks like this:
Monday - Squash
Tuesday - Steady run (45 mins)
Wednesday - Hill training (32 mins)
Thursday - Strength
Friday - Tempo run (45 mins)
Saturday - Rest or Strength
Sunday - Long run (80 mins)
I did have a 0.5 kg weight loss on the scale this morning, but not counting it yet because I did my 70 min long run yesterday, so could just be dehydration. Will see if it remains down over the week before I log it.
I am going to try to make sure I am in bed earlier this week (between 9 - 9:30 pm) so I'm not so tired by the end of the week, and I can get up early to run!
Also thinking about eating at maintenance from now on, as I am happy with my current weight, and want to have enough fuel for my training.
Good luck with your goals for the week! I find everyone's hard work and successes very motivating!0 -
Hi Groovers, WOW ... you are all amazing and doing so well!
I’m still in Sri Lanka and spent the last week on the road in the war affected areas, so no ability to weigh in until I get home in 2 weeks. Not a lot of chance to exercise in the field, but got a few walks in and bit of floor stuff done in the hotel room as time allowed, watched what I ate as much as I could but Sri Lankan food is the bomb and very carb heavy!!
Name: Donna
Challenge Starting Weight: 77.5
Goal Weight: 72
Today's Weight: no scale – no idea
Last week weight 77
Weight loss this week: - no idea til I get to a scale in 2 weeks.
Today's Measurements:
Bicep: 25 = same
Chest: 88/106 = -1/same ☺
Waist: 88/100 = -1/-1 ☺
Hips: 97 = same
Thigh: 50 = same
Starting Body Fat % (if known): 39.7
Goal Body Fat %: 36
Body fat this week: don’t know – no scale
What goals did you kick this week? Was out in the field so not a lot of opportunity to exercise but got a weight sesh in before I left and a couple of long walks while in the field, and a floor session at the hotel.
How do you feel? Blessed and inspired – love my work!! ☺
List 3 things you are grateful for? Being alive, having the best job in the work that takes me to so incredible places, being able to eat Sri Lankan curry for breakfast for the next 1.5 weeks ☺
What are you going to improve on next week? Back in Colombo now for the next 10 days or so which means I have access to the hotel gym – so intend to make sure I get in a session each day – and a long walk on rest days.
Have a great week everyone!! ☺0 -
Hi All,
Obviously I am very exstatic this morning as I now have seriously broken down that horrible wall with stopped me twice before, I also reached my original goal of being under 85kg, but I already reset that some time ago to be under 80kg.
I survived the weekend and actually lost weight over the weekend, however I had seen it coming as I have even seen mid 83's after my work outs (not that I count those) but it does give me an indication where I am heading.
Also seem to understand my body better, it certainly is one who does not like to give up it's pot of gold easily and I need to be darn committed about it. Getting lots of positive comments. :-)
Question to all of you: What would you do to a good (female) friend who for years has poked fun at your belly and who now has a belly bigger then mine. :-) - So far I have been the better man. :-)
I have bought some compression socks and compression full pants plus ordered some magnesium, hopefully they can help with my leg muscles so I can get more serious about running a marathon, which at this stage I still only give 15% chance.
Just over 2 weeks and will be going on holidays so I have something to look forward to!!! :-)
Michele, jealous of you for being able to look at maintaining. Very well desrerved though
Donna, still envious of your job, and being able to fit it around your MFP plan.
Sweety, believe it and you will succeed, no doubt you can do it
Allie, you need to do what works for you, when losing this big then go for it, although be prepared to chance it when you get stuck.... The closer you get to your target the harder it gets.
Skim you're a legend, need not to say more, keep up the good work.

Hi all
Pretty damned happy with 1.6kg loss ( monthly weigh in ), I had been in a plateau for I for I can't remember how long. . Upping my exercise with PT sessions & Pump classes has helped and also increasing my calorie intake to between 1300-1400. I think I may have been too low and my body was just holding on to anything it could. It wasn't easy as I had been on 1200 for so long and that had worked for me. It wasn't easy for me to let go of because I was in fear off putting on weight. I'm now converted
Flyer: I wouldn't do anything If you're looking fantastic, trust me it will be eating her up inside.
Donna: You are doing an amazing job considering you are living out of a suitcase ! You go girl!
Sweetysmum : Get back on the wagon a little fall every now and then happens to all of us
Allie :Cograts on the loss and reaching your goal. You are kicking those goals in a big way, well done
Michal I cant wait till I am at the manitenance stage like yourself great work
Skim: Thank you so very very much for starting this challenge, it has kept me motivated and the group has given me confidence to do things I haven't done in a while eg : pump and Pt sessions. You rock sister :flowerforyou:
Have a great week all
Donna0 -
Hi Sweety! Been there done that!! I think half of us if not more have fallen off the wagon, but here's a hand to get you back on... Good on you for getting up for the early class, it's not always easy.
Allie, one kilo in a week is bloody amazing and don't you forget it!! Well done on the Friday invitations as well, even if you didn't accept any of them. And your news from your dr is fabulous! Just fabulous!! Lets hope in 6 months at the next appointment the news will be even better again.
Hey there Mich, goals look good for this week, eating at maintenance sounds like the way to go.
Donna you make me laugh, just looking at the photo and your big smile and attitude is just so infectious. I bet the food is amazing over there!! It's good to see you still on track and your wonderful attitude, I'm sure we are all grateful to have you in our group.
Nice work Flyer! I would continue to be the better man and not say anything to your female friend. There would be no joy in that conversation...
Hi Donna, nice loss! Well done upping your cals and getting off that plateau terrific news!! Good to hear that you are enjoying pump as well - it's all good!!
It's been a strange day, cloudy and raining this morning, now sunny and getting warm again. I had a coffee and fabulously delicious toasted banana bread with butterfor morning tea and coconut chips for lunch, so this is not really going to be my best day. I forgot my lunch, left it in the fridge at home, so just ate what was in my desk drawer... AND I haven't planned dinner yet because I was busy doing nothing yesterday and didn't do the grocery shopping, so hopefully I'll make a good choice on the way home at the supermarket.
Need to remind myself that if I don't get off to a good start on Monday if often sets me up for a bad week... Yes, I do need to remember that on the way home. Maybe steak and salad for dinner, that's easy enough..
Have a great day everyone!!0 -
hey everyone,
sorry for my short absence, I had one of the worst bouts of anxiety I've ever had. To the point I was too anxious to go on the forums :S no idea what triggered it or why it was so bad.
In positive news I was down to 78.5 on weigh in day which made me a very happy camper
I've done one pump class os far and am planning to do another on Wednesday and another on fri or sat with my sis. hoping to throw in some cardio on the other days as well0 -
Hi All!
Early days, but my no sucrose/maltose diet seems to be a winner! I'm feeling great and my energy levels are back to where they should be. Will keep the exclusions going this week, thats my only diet goal.
Fitness this week;
Mon: AM - Body Pump
Tues: AM - Body Step. PM - dog walk or "Fat Burner" gym class, depends on weather
Wed: AM - Swiss Ball gym class. PM - bikram yoga
Thurs: AM - Dog Run. PM: Pump - if I don't stay at the travel agent too long
Fri: AM - Body Balance. PM - Pump or bikram yoga
Sat: AM - Body Step/bikram yoga. PM - dog walk
Sun: AM - Dog Run
I have too many options! Loving the gym and like going cos I'm paying for it. I have some friends that I convinced to start bikram, and they love it, so I've been going along with them, as I've already got pre-paid passes. I feel like I'm neglecting my running and my dogs, so I'm trying to find the balance. Also, I've got so many options, that I don't mind if I miss a few out of the schedule. As long as I'm getting 6 hours a week, I'm happy.
Well done everyone on your weight loss/CM loss! I didn't look last week - being so bloated that I looked 6 months preggers was enough to bruise the ego. I'll do my weigh in this week on Thursday
I love that everyone is kicking their goals and trying something new. Go team!0 -
Great to see you back Candi, sorry to hear about the anxiety attack, hope you are back on top of things :flowerforyou:
Mon, you are a powerhouse!! Good to hear that the sugar thing is working out - or LACK of sugar. Gen is doing a sugar free February and she appears to be doing really well on it too. Sounds like a good thing!
I had a terrible food day yesterday, lets not even go there.
Today I feel horrible. I'm not sure if it was from the wheat/sugar from yesterday or if I'm just tired, or if I'm coming down with something. I was exhausted before I even left home for work this morning. SO tired that I couldn't be bothered getting all dressed up for work, and I'm wearing "mufti" today which is ridiculous, because I am still all dressed up - LOL!! Just not in corporate type gear.
Plus tonight Bumper is coming over, no wonder I don't get enough sleep these days. The problem is that he is a talker, and I am a talker, so we just talk and talk and talk and before you know it, it's midnight. Last night we were on the phone until 10:30 and I should have been asleep... I think this is why I'm so tired.
Anyway, I had oats for breakfast this morning to give me a bit of a pick up. Thought I would share how I make them:
30g rolled oats, soak in boiling water for an hour, then microwave for one minute, stir and cover for 5 minutes, add more water if needed, microwave another minute, stir and cover 5 minutes. In another bowl, beat one egg white. Add to oats and stir, microwave 30 seconds. Stir in one scoop of vanilla protein powder and it will be all thick and creamy and delicious. Eat. It's good for carbs and protein and tastes yum. Optional to add cinnamon. I had 4 prunes as well, because I like them.
What does everyone else have for breakfast?0 -
Well done on your loss this month, DeeBee!
Candi - glad you are back after your bout of anxiety. It is the pits, isn't it? Can you work out what influenced it? For me, it's never 1 clear cut cause, but an accumulation of generalised worry about everything!! (work, finances, kids, global warming, etc, etc)
Mon - you are a machine! 6 hours a week of exercise is amazing! So glad you're feeling better since cutting out sugar.
Skim - yes, it probably is your late nights causing you to be so tired. When my (now) husband and I first got together, he was training for an ironman triathlon, and needed his sleep. I remember him asking me not to call him after 9:30 pm on nights when he had to get up at 3 or 4 am the next morning for long rides, because of course if I called, he would talk to me until late, then struggle on his ride the next day. I was definitely detrimental to his training!
And breakfast - my favourite meal of the day! Your oats sound delicious, Skim! Before starting on MFP, my fave breakfast for years was 4 pieces of toast (2 with promite, 2 with marmalade) and a pot of tea. Since I got onto MFP and found out more about macros and stuff, I was a bit shocked at how low in protein (only 14 g), and high in sodium and sugar this breakfast was.
Now, I have 2 favourite breakfasts -
1. 2 eggs on toast, with 20g of cheese, diced tomato and baby spinach on top (24 g protein)
2. 3 weetbix, 200 ml skim milk, 1 banana (or other fruit), 100 g chobani yoghurt on top (25 g protein)
I usually have my weetbix breakfast after my morning runs to replenish glycogen stores because it is high in carbs. (About double the carbs of my eggs on toast breakfast). I also have weetbix before squash to give me enough energy to run around the court for 45 minutes.
What does everyone else have for breakfast?0 -
I will tell you about my NEW favourites for breakfast, because the old non-sugar free breakfasts are stoopid and smelly and I hate them now (petulant child, lol).
1. Plain Chobani, raw muesli or trail mix, & fruit (usually blueberries and blackberries, I can't have banana or strawberries which were my old favs).
2. Toast with 1 egg, sauteed spinach and mushrooms. Loaded with pepper.
I'm getting back into the old childhood fav of vita-wheats. I can't have weet-bix, they have malt.
As you can probably tell, I'm using this post to share AND vent. I'm a bit cranky with my intolerance today.
PS: thanks for everyones encouragement though!!0 -
I forgot to weigh this morning and so will do so tomorrow, but I'm not expecting a good result as last week wasn't the best. I was out every night bar sunday and both food and exercise suffered. This week will be better. Sunday I painted and pruned the shrubs, last night I repotted several large pots, tonight I will dig out the fallowed veg patch. Not formal exercise but still a good workout.
Well done to everyone who had a good week. Lorelei, great result especially the drop in your measurements. Donna, 1.6kg is amazing. Rob, you've found your magic formula, there will be no stopping you now. Rayman, well done on the 2 rides, I'm sure it was a better week than what your bad weeks were pre-mfp. Well done Maurice, great progress. Allie / Jen - great losses for you both. Candirose, I hope this is a better week for you.
You are all inspiring and I feel my butt well and truly kicked after reading how well you are all doing.
Helen
Oh and most importantly, I got an early night last night and feel sooo much better for it. So good, I've planned a night hike in a couple of weeks (hopefully low 30s by then)0 -
Go Helen!!! Any old exercise will do, and gardening is great because you get something pretty to look at and a workout - it's a hard slog working in the garden! Hike sounds good in the cooler (?) weather too.
Mon - bacon (or ham), eggs, spinach and mushies is my all time favourite brekkie! Yum!!
I think I'll start making my Quinoa breakfast bake again too. I have plain chobani with it - will make up a batch and post the recipe. It's also good for morning or afternoon tea and/or dessert.. or anything really!0 -
I'm on day 20 of whole30, so 10 more days, and it's over.
I also started phase 3 of p90x2. I really like it, it's hard work though, however I know it will get me results.
Running still doing that, but I miss not having a race to help me get up to speed.0 -
Hi everyone. I haven't posted here since I started, but I just wanted to let you all know I'm still active and reading.
I was 96kgs at the start of week 1, and have lost 4.8kgs in the 4 weeks so far. I'm also into Week 4 of the C25K and just ran my first 2kms straight last Saturday! (so excited at my progress!)
I've also incorporated some gym classes in the past 2 weeks, I'm really enjoying exercise lately - more than ever in my life.
My goal is to be 84kgs and be able to run a 5K at the end of this 12 weeks. I feel like I am still on track.
Great reading all your updates. Hope you all have a great week.
-Caitlin0 -
Wow monbot you are amazing, thats heavy week of workouts ahead!
Skim: I have oats most mornings for breaky as well. I just put the oats, chia seeds, cinnemon frozen berries (atm obsessed with blueberries) and water and chuck it in for a few minutes-yum!
Michable: I dont really know I think it may have started because of workplace drama and yeah like you said it snowballed to everything else slighly not right in the world. I have not gone to a doctor/psych and had a formal diagnosis (too nervous/embarrassed to) but i am generally an anxious person. I knew it was bad because I was so anxious I wasnt eating and I am not a girl to go without a meal haha But being back at the gym definantly helps!
Wahelga: painted the shrubs? haha sorry all i have going through my head now is "painting the roses red..."
good luck getting back on track this week
mmk: hows the whole30 going? you are so damn dedicated !!
Caitlin: Welsome! awesome loss and great job getting into the exercise0 -
Hi all TTTA - week 5 already and I somehow feel I havent gotten very far and at other times I cannot believe how much I have changed already - not just on the scales but my mental attitude astounds me, well the old me anyway.
I lost 1kg last month, a tiny amount compared to what I wanted BUT I kept at my plan - I went to the gym and stayed commited to my exercise plan. I have had a tricky start to the work year and have had high levels of frustration on numerous days - the old me would have drowned that with a drink or three and ate something to with it. But U havent - I have taken out my frustrations at the gym time and time again. It amazes me how much better I feel afterwards - anger goes, gym hasbeen a great mood leveller for me.
So despite the small weight loss I feel so proud of myself. I also feel healthier and so many people have commented as well.
This week I am going to improve on weighing my food and tarcking my water intake to make sure I get at least 8 glasses.
So for your updates - I love them, I waste so much time on MFP reading comments and being inspired by everyday people doing amazing things. You guys rock.
Skim: you are a legend, what you have started is incredible thankyou is not enough
Allie: great news about your MS check-up
Michele: I am going to run one day and know your feeling
Donna: your love for life is infectious and I love hearing of your travels
Flyer: a breakthrough and a dilemma although maybe you could just remind your friend of her 'jokes'
Donna: it seems we do have to change a lifetime of listening to and believing you have to starve yourself to lose weight - I too find the same thing
Candi: you are back now and thats what counts
Mon: what is bikram yoga I am intrigued
Michele: I am a cereal girl in the morning and you will find I only ever change between 2 or 3 (& have done for years - so boring)
Helen: this heat is getting ridiculous but I love your house related workouts!!
Caitlin: I am going to be a runner one day - my first 5K I want to do is in September. I never have run in my life but now its this little burning desire I have and keep wanting to improve on it and slolwy I am.
Keep it up everyone, consistency, persistency and patience.0 -
Hi all,
Well done everyone, think you are all doing amazing.
We all have our good and bad days however we keep trying and persisting and in the end that's what counts. As long as the good days out way the bad then each and everyone of us is already a success.
I have started logging again and have kept on track since Friday so am pleased about that. Weighed myself this morning and am actually exactly the same as I was three weeks ago which was the last time I weighed. Believe it or not I am actually ok with this. That being as I was having a few issues with my food intake so actually do think I did put on a little for a bit but have now lost it again.
Sunday I ran 12.5ks in 1hr 10min extremely pleased with this. I always exercise in the morning. Today I went for a run after work and only managed 4.1ks so have decided I won't be doing that again in a hurry. Will be sticking to mornings.
My training this week is: mon- strength, Tuesday- run 5ks, wed- strength, Thursday- run 8ks, Fri- strength, sat - run 14ks and sun -rest.... Not sure how I'll go with my long run as we're going away for the weekend so will just wait and see.
Breakfast for me is normally muesli which I have made myself. In a container I mix rolled oats, medley dried fruit, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. I have this with low fat milk. My other breakfast I normally have is an omlette which is two eggs with either mushrooms, tomato and spinach leaves. Love adding cheese to this but it does increase the calories a bit.
Hope you all have an amazing, healthy and fit week
Lou ????0 -
Hi everyone,
Wow, you're all doing so well, congratulations to all of you for your achievements, it is inspiring to see all those goals being met.
Still waiting for those scales to move, I keep trying and trying but it's still not going down... On the upside though it isn't going up again either I guess.
Good news is I reached one of last weeks' goals and tried out a fitness class - it is called Radical Fight Do and combines cardio with boxing moves and Muy Thai. I went with my sister, my daughter and niece and we all loved it and went again this week The bad news though is that the gym changed their timetable and that class isn't running on a Monday night now, it has been changed to X55 which is a step class - we all tried it out tonight at a fitness launch party the gym was hosting, but none of us really liked it. I can probably go to Fight Do on Monday morning instead but it means the girls will be at school and can't come, which is a shame as they really enjoyed it
Not sure what my goals are for this week, except maybe trying to eat better over the weekend - on Saturday last weekend I had a total blow-out and was over by over 500 cals. Not very proud of that, and found it really hard to get back on track.
Take care everyone and have a great week - you all rock! I feel very grateful to be part of this group.
Tansy0 -
Happy Hump day everyone
Travelling along nicely so far this week.
Tansy well done on going to a class, you will love them.
Miffy well done on the run, I hope to be able to run one day too.
Caitlin well done on the loss, that's fantastic loss.
Dspen well done on the 1 kilo, it may seem little, but it will add up.
Ok must get the girl ready for school and off to Bodypump for me. Have a great day everyone.0 -
Good morning everyone, I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see some new updates this morning and chitty chat!!
Hello one and all! It doesn't matter if you haven't posted every day or every week, I'm sure we are all just happy to have you all here in our group - posters and lurkers alike.
One thing that has struck a chord with me this morning is that we are all so very hard on ourselves. Don't get me wrong - I think there is a time for a good long hard look in the mirror and time to face the music and give oneself a kick up the butt to get moving in the right direction. But on the flip side of that, we are so critical and self effacing a lot of the time.
Isn't anything ever good enough? So often we tell ourselves that we didn't do enough, don't earn enough, aren't good enough. Bloody hell. It's got to stop.
Yes. We are good enough. That's it. End of story. Go and look at yourself in the mirror and say to yourself: I AM ENOUGH.
That's going to be hard for some of us. It might bring up some issues. But you are. I am. We all are. Enough.

dspen - bikram yoga is a series of 26 yoga postures and 2 breathing exercises performed in a 40 degree room with 40% humidity. Calculators/hr monitors say I burn approx 800 cals in the 90 min class. It is super hard, and my heart rate does go up, but I am skeptical about the high calorie burn. I just log it and don't eat it all back. not even half back, lol.
None the less, its a great work out and it cures all my running aches and pains, such as joint pains (have bad knees and hips), and helps me with my posture.0 -
So with that out of the way... Here is my story from yesterday:
I woke up in the morning with a pain in my right hand which got progressively worse throughout the day. I'm really not sure what it is, it's also in my wrist and hurts when I pick things up. I couldn't put my hair in a ponytail and had trouble picking up my wine glass last night - fortunately my left hand is fine :drinker: Having difficulty picking anything up really.. Today it's worse so I'm really not sure what's going on there. I've taken some Nurofen and will ice it later. Maybe I did something at the gym on Monday (legs and shoulders) could have been my wrist angle with shoulder presses??? No idea, I didn't feel any issues with it until yesterday morning. We shall see.
So - no weights for me today. :ohwell:
Also yesterday I bought a packet of Licorice Allsorts and ate the entire bag on the way home from work. Still haven't logged it, OMG how many calories is that going to be? All sugar... Very naughty of me. I should do it now... hang on...
GULP.. 784 calories, 165g carbs, 111g sugar.. (oops). Total of 2865 calories for the day.
Moving right along. Then Bumper came over for dinner and we had pizza and chicken ribs. Do chickens even have ribs?
Anyway, look, that wasn't the best day I've ever had, but let me tell you it certainly isn't the worst either!! :noway: So I am not going to feel guilty, I am not going to feel bad about it, I am going to move on and get on with things today. Might have a slightly lower day with calories, but I'm really just going to focus on getting the SUGAR and WHEAT back out of my diet because it really does make me feel like crap.
Confession over, thanks for listening. I am enough.

Matilda, you are doing so well with your Whole 30, and everything really. I admire your consistency.
Caitlin, thank you for dropping us a note, it's so good to see that you are getting amazing results with your weight loss and your C25k as well. You sound like you are absolutely on track for your goals!!! Great effort!!
Candi, I'm so sorry that you have been going through this anxious time, it's horrible. Get whatever help you need to be able to work your way through it and surround yourself with people who love and care about you. Keep up the exercise if that helps you to stay grounded.
Danielle, it just goes to show that the changes you have made are staying with you. I admire you for having a rough time at work and still going to the gym in the afternoon when it would be very easy to go home and sit on the lounge with a glass of wine. Go You!! I wouldn't be too worried about a slow loss, it's just a period of re-adjustment and the weight will continue to come off as you put your plan into action.
Lou - yes!!! You maintained, and we are all a success for exactly those reasons!! Thank you. We are enough!! Fantastic work on the running, I do better in the morning as well. I figure if it works for you, then do it.
Tansy, keep on keeping on and the changes will happen. That boxing combo class sounds good, I used to love Body Combat (sounds similar) and Step can be a bit hard on your knees.. See what you can fit in, maybe even leave a suggestion with the gym for a time change and ask others to do the same? I was over my maintenance by 1000 yesterday so you aren't the only one...
Megan, good to hear you are travelling along - have fun at Pump
Mon, I've never done Bikram Yoga but people who do rave about it. I'm pretty bad a any type of yoga, I think it's one of those things that comes with practice, but I like to smash it out at the gym and whenever I do yoga I find myself watching the clock the entire time and wishing it was over... (I'm not very patient).
Have a great day everyone! You are all fabulous!0 -
Hey everyone, hope your week is going well. I'm on track so far for the week - did hill training this morning (for the first time), which involved 10 mins of warm-up run, then 6 x 200 m hill efforts, with jog back recovery, then 10 mins cool-down run. I have a GPS watch that I share with my husband, and it uploads the data from the run to the computer so you can see all your stats. Well, the heart rate graph was pretty cool! It's a line graph, and it looks like a zig-zag, because it shows 6 really sharp peaks from when I was running uphill, then steep drops when I was jogging back down to start again. Even better than my intervals graphs!
Helen - a night hike sounds awesome! And good on you for gardening - that is a workout!
Candi - don't know if it might be something you're interested in, but when my anxiety was really bad last year, I did an online CBT course throught the Mindspot clinic (completely free, Australian government funded, run by real psychologists). I found it very helpful. You do an online screening assessment first, then they get back to you with your results, and see if you want a place in their next online course. There are online modules to work through and practice exercises to do, and phone / email contact with a psychologist for the duration of the course. You never have to be face-to-face with anyone.
mmk - I didn't know what a Whole30 was, until I just looked it up, and now I am very impressed! Way to go!
Caitlin - congrats on your success so far! You are doing great with your weight loss and exercise - glad you're enjoying it!
Danielle - congrats on your new attitude, and the new you! You sound so motivated! Good luck with your 5km in September! And never think you can't run - anyone can. I never thought I would be able to run, and even now, I am only a very average speed runner. But that is what I love about running - that it doesn't matter how far or how fast you can go, it just matters that you're out there doing it, and training to be better! I am focused on my personal goals, and motivated to see what improvements I can make in my distance and speed over time. If I can run a half-marathon in May, I will be very happy. Then who knows? Maybe a marathon?
Lou - awesome time for your 12.5 km on the weekend! I am impressed! And well done you for maintaining over 3 weeks of not logging!
Tansy - well done for trying out a fitness class! Keep it going!
Skim - I hope your hand/wrist is nothing serious! Glad everything going well with love-life!
Have a good week everyone!

Nice work on the hill runs Michele! Mighty impressive.
I thought I'd post here about the updates in the Weigh In Thread http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1203099-week-5-weigh-in-17-23-february so we don't get chatting in 2 places. It seems that everyone is kicking goals, even though they might not necessarily be weight loss ones, I'm seeing some really positive outcomes.
Jen, that's great going - I like to try to get a lunch time walk in as well. Even if it's just 15 minutes, it helps get a little bit extra activity in, hopefully next week you will be at your mini goal
Allie, you are on fire!! It doesn't matter that you said your food and exercise was a bit off, look at those measurements going down!! Awesome!!
Maurice, 59km steps in one week... WTH!!! Great going! Rest days are just as important as training days, so good on you for recognising that you needed to take one.
Ray, ah, sounds like a good week to me!! 120km riding is not to be sneezed at and you were under your calorie goal for the week, sounds like a win. Unfortunately work does get in the way sometimes, but we have to do it.. :ohwell: Better luck this week with the weather so you can get your rides in.
Flyer, well done on the lowest weight! Fabulous news for you!!
Donna, you are going great guns! Good on you for getting off the light and easy and doing your own thing. I'm sure you'll save money and even with the extra calories, I think you are on the right track. You need food and with the added pump class, you'll need protein. All good stuff
Lorelei, don't worry too much about the scale, those measurements are what counts and they are decreasing. Waist measurement especially! Good work!
Ricki-Lee, congrats for getting back on track, it feels good when we do that and well done on the gym membership, I look forward to hearing what you do there.
Weighty, NOT binge eating is a HUGE achievement!!! As a binge eater myself, I know how hard it is to stop the pattern, and one week without doing it is amazing. I'm sorry you don't feel great just yet, but you will. Have faith in yourself, as we do. I know you can get to where you want to be.
Looking forward to seeing more updates and everyone's progress. Remember: "I am enough"0 -
mmk - I didn't know what a Whole30 was, until I just looked it up, and now I am very impressed! Way to go!
Michele
Thanks Michele, I feel much better on whole30, just another reason to eat paleo 100% of the time.
I have a trial trail run this weekend, so will be experimenting with endurance food.0 -
Hi Challengers!!
Today was a weird day for me today, hand still hurting so no weights, and had a super super busy day at work, so no time for MFP
Hope you all had a great day! I'll be back tomorrow!!0 -
Hi everyone, I have been MIA for a for weeks but have been lurking a bit. I started a new job full time in early Feb and have been preoccupied with that and organising the family. I haven't been logging but haven't strayed too far off the wagon. I jump on the scales periodically and the numbers are going down, slowly but surely. I'm sure it helps that I'm on my feet a lot in my new job!
Anyway I hope everyone is having a good week.0 -
Well done on the weight loss and the new job, Serenity! You must be very busy.0
