New to Atkins...HELP

Ok so I decided to start on a the Atkins journey 2/25/14 it has been going ok so far. I have some questions which I can not find in the book.
1. How do you measure your serving, when measuring veggies do I use the measuring cup (I do have a food scale if that's better)?
2. Do I have to pack down the veggies in the cup or just scoop up?
3. Last night my stomach was doing a loud growling noise but I had just ate a snack and 2 cups of water... is this normal?
4. Do you go off the carbs on MFP or the book?

Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

The only thing I ever measure is my veggies or something I know has a few carbs. If I am hungry, I eat. I keep things around for snacks like deviled eggs, tuna fish that is made up with mayo, etc. There are lots of sites that can suggest allowable snacks...there is no reason to go hungry. Water is always good. Cheese is good.

On induction, for myself, I really limit anything other than meat, eggs or cheese. Hope this helps.

A food scale would be best since, as you can tell, you can measure the same amount very differently depending if you pack things or if you don't.

My husband also does low carb off and on and for him the first few days are hard because you can be hungry. Usually it subsides in a few days once your body is really into ketosis and your body is hungry less often since you're eating more fat helping keep you full longer.

I go off the carbs in MFP or I scan in the nutrition myself using the MFP app. I don't own the book and I've honestly never read it.
  • Skinnyone2012: Thanks for the advice. I will have to look into the site with snacks. I know my stomach wasn't growling because it was hungry... just haven't heard that noise in a while.
