Hi guys and thanks for the add. I'm just about to start the path towards gastric bypass. Did a seminar last night and am waiting to schedule my initial consultation. I'm sitting at a 44 BMI and am finally admitting defeat doing this on my own. It looks like my out of pocket costs will be $2K, which will make it a rough year (just recovering from a year long layoff) but doable and a good investment in my health...and likely a savings from all the health and weightloss gimmics I'd buy into in the future.

I think you will see along the way that you still have to do this "on your own" you'll just have another tool to utilize.
We have many success stories in this group and they always tell us this is definitely NOT an easy way out.
Good Luck to you on your road to better health!:flowerforyou:0 -
You are so right when you say 'good investment in my health'! No truer words
Welcome to a great group of 'successful losers' who are here for you and for all making that investment. A rough year ~ possibly, but you've got us to cheer you on. Welcome aboard!0 -
all i can say is that i wish i had gone this route earlier. it is not defeat, it is making the best of medical technology that we have for morbid obesity. yes i was there for too many years, thinking i could do it by exercise and diet alone. go forward, start your changes now be happy that you have taken the first step
best decision i ever made, a car costs more and does not change your life.0
