For only the second time this winter I did my long run inside on the treadmill. We're having a record-setting-cold weekend with ridiculous wind chills. I could have run outside yesterday if it was just cold but the wind chills are in the "dangerous" category and while I'm stubborn, I'm not a complete idiot. So I went to the gym last night & did bike/run intervals. I hit the wall during my final 2 mile run so I ended up doing run/walk intervals. In the end I ran 6 miles, walked 1 mile, biked 40 minutes, and spent 10 minutes getting in a good stretch & torturing myself on the foam roller. Since I did the bike yesterday I'll probably just do the elliptical & rowing machine today, plus the homework that Jason gave me (low back, hip & shoulder exercises, inner thigh machine).
I also need to get started with some cleaning & laundry. The weekends go so fast!
Have a great Sunday, everyone.0 -
Laura, that was some serious cardio yesterday. You're a better woman than I, because I couldn't do the treadmill for that long--no way. Yesterday when it rained, I took the bus the 1st trip to the gym, so I asked a trainer to show me how to use a treadmill so I could warm up. I walked on it for 4min...couldn't even make it the full 5min. haha
So, today the rain cleared and I ran to the gym, did leg workout and ran back. It was a good workout. The sunny skies kept the gym emptier than I was expecting.
Tomorrow is a holiday for us. Normally it is a day of flying kites and the first day of Lent. Most likely it will rain again, so I don't know about the kites, but no school or work, so I'm taking a rest day with my family.
Have a good one e'body!0 -
Day 7
???? Elliptical 30 mins
???? cardio HIIT routine for 30 mins
Was going to do Yoga but decided to go to the States for a couple hours. I love being a border town cheaper gas!!
Hope everyone has a great Sunday0 -
Was supposed to run today, but felt sorry for Colin who keeps getting left home all the time, plus I ran on Friday and Saturday, so we (I and the two dogs) took a walk. It took us a little over two hours to go 6 miles. It would have been faster if the dogs had both walked in the same direction for more than a second or so at a time. They are usually pretty good, but today was not one of their more obedient days.
I've got some grocery shopping to do, some cleaning, and some strength training and all my chores will be done.
Tomorrows forecast is freezing rain starting at about midnight, changing to sleet, to give us 1/10 an inch of ice. This will be followed by snow with 8 to 12 inches predicted by 6 am Monday. Since Maryland isn't know for it's speed in road clearing (and no one has snow tires on their cars), my road may possibly be plowed by noon, but it's likely to be later than that. So ... I may have to take another vacation day tomorrow, whether I want to or not.0 -
Sounds like awesome workouts Sherry & Jules! Sherry, enjoy your holiday tomorrow!
Your weather sounds downright miserable tomorrow Donna. This winter has been brutal for a good part of the US, hasn't it?
I got in a better workout than I expected to. I'm always tired on Sundays, but as soon as I get started I tend to perk up. I did 15 minutes on the rowing machine, the first half of my homework from Jason (3 sets of 15 on the Roman chair & inner thigh machine), 15 minutes on my personal nemesis Jacob's Ladder (my previous longest time on it was 10 minutes), the second half of my homework (band exercises for my shoulders & hips - 2 sets of 15), 15 minutes on the AMT cross-trainer, and finally a stretch & some time torturing my IT bands on the foam roller.0
