Are any of you following the insanity calorie plan worked out to your needs? And if so are you losing weight? I'm following the calorie plan that I worked out as stated by the program but have stayed more or less the same over the past two weeks. Im worried that I'm eating too much. Im using my hrm and im burning between 400-500calories each workout, my bmr is 1400 and I'm quite active throughout the day. Insanity has put me on 1930 a day but now Im not sure...

Any of you going through the same thing?

Thx

I'm not following the nutrition plan, but am just trying to make good choices and eat TDEE -15%. When I did part of Insanity before, as well as this time, I didn't notice a whole lot of weight loss. What I did notice was a change in the way my body looks, and an increase to my strength and endurance.
  • I tell ya....a 40/40/20 plan is very hard to follow, because a lot of the good stuff you need has the fat in it too: milk, ground beef, eggs, cheese....it is hard to keep up with it. I am fixing to create a poster that has tiers 1-3 on it, and I will put it on my wall in my kitchen. If it is not on that list, It will not be in my kitchen. Now, how well I stick to that depends on funds, but yeah.

As far as weight loss goes...it depends.....most reviews tell you to not worry about weight in the first month. I know I am not paying much attention to it each day (although I do look). I know I am fitter, and I know how I feel. I go with that. I know my muscles are growing and I just had blood work done that said I am as healthy as can be on the inside. That really makes me not care about what I may look like on the scale.

As a funny note, I am clinically obese, but all blood tests say I am right where I should be!

I've been following LCHF since January and just kept right on with it... I increased my macros in proportion to my Insanity calorie burns, but stuck pretty much to what I've been doing...

Last week I lost 4 lbs.

This week won't be as much... it's time to start adding back in some carbs....

Thats exactly my problem my fat is very high and im never hitting my carb target so a little frustrating.. Thats a good idea on the wall chart I might do the same - sticking to it might be easier said than done though!

Thanks for all your replies I think I will cut my calories down between 1700-1800 giving me a bigger deficit but still above bmr hopefully I will see more progress that way. I measured myself today and have lost 7cm overall but I think I could do better.

    Good luck on week 3!

Last time I did Insanity I didn't lose weight, I lost inches and dropped a pants size, gained strength stamina and endurance. When you are trying to cut, sculpt and define ... Insanity is awesome.

I try to follow along with 40/40/20 but its usually closer to 40/30/30. Its hard to keep the fat at 20 - you won't be able to have anything but select fruits and veggies and lean meats. I like avocado, I like almonds, cheese and peanut butter etc - I also like bars (like Fiber One, Kelloggs Fiber Plus etc), they help get me through the day but a Kind bar can pack 13g of fat easy. Also, you'd be limited to chicken breast and turkey since other types of meat or eating a thigh will result in higher fat.
