Absolutely right!
I started the day with some yoga (great back exercises, I have much less back pain since I started this 2 months ago!) and I will either do some cardio today (inline skating) or I'll hit the gym and do some cardio and strength training (it depends on time what I choose today, because gym means that I need more than double of my time)
But can't wait to work out today :drinker:0 -
nenshali, what a nice way to start your day. Enjoy skating or the gym!
Today's picture is of Donna doing her stair workout at work!
My plan is to hit the gym for a core/butt/back workout, and since I ran yesterday, giving my shoulders a day of rest, I'm going to hit my shoulders again with a couple of exercises because I want to really begin to focus on my terribly weak shoulders (all assuming I have the time, while son is at lessons). Looks like rain today, so there might not be any jogging to/from.0 -
This sounds good!
Do you tend to have days where to focus on special parts of your body (f.e. leg day, or today butt/back) or do you simply do what you feel like or do you mix it up and have "a bick workout" at once?
Because I'm not sure what would be best for me.. right now I'm doing a plank challenge and an ABs challenge (which includes planks as well), because I need to train my arms a little bit more.
When I'm in the gym and do strength training, I'm always doing nearly everything, but I don't go that often (yet), so.. I'm so unsure0 -
Love today's saying, and especially love that it's inspired by Donna running her stairs!
nenshali I work out with a trainer three days a week and sometimes we do total body and sometimes we focus on certain areas. I see him Monday, Wednesday & Thursday - typically on Monday we'll do a total body workout, then Wednesday & Thursday one day we'll do upper body one day & lower body the other day, and abs one day and lower back the other. Sometimes it's just shoulders. Sometimes it's arms & chest. He works in a lot of variety. We did a lot of planking last night so even though it wasn't a shoulder workout (it was legs & abs) my shoulders are sore this morning. Sometimes we'll do legs Monday then upper body/push on Wednesday and upper body/pull on Thursday. Often on the weekend he'll give me some "homework" for whatever we didn't get to. Last weekend he had me do my own lower back stuff.
So tonight I'm anticipating an upper body & lower back workout, plus I need to run since I didn't yesterday. Sinuses aren't great but they're better than yesterday, so yay progress.0 -
I do a 3 day split: chest/shoulders/arms & glutes/back/abs & legs/hips. I do about 8-10 exercises on each day. I'm doing this until April and then re-evaluating. Currently doing sets of 12,8,6,6,6, although I discovered today that I can hit my weak shoulders better by reversing and doing my heaviest first. I add weight as often as I can. I do each workout 1x during the week and 1x during the weekend (doubling up upper with core on Sat, hitting lower on Sun). I really want to do Stronglifts, but the barbell section is packed in the afternoon when I go, so it'll have to wait until I can go earlier in the day. So, in April, I'll probably just rearrange my split and trade some machine exercises for cable machine exercises and maybe some free weights, to switch things up.
Today I did glutes/back/abs and hit shoulders a couple of times in between. Gonna keep trying to hit shoulders as often as possible, to try to build strength there. Only 5min warmup run, but ran back afterwards for 20min total. I feel like I got a really good workout today.0 -
Trying to decide what to do today, or at least what to do between leaving work at 5:15 and getting to flyball practice at 8 pm.
Choices:
-- Metabolic Conditioning class (yes, I went to one yesterday, but this week they seem to be holding another class on Thursday, my guess is that they will continue to do so throughout the month)
-- Water Aerobics -- normally my choice, but this instructor doesn't push very hard and the various swim teams will be using the other lanes so I won't be able to just swim
-- Short run; I'm running on Friday and Sunday for sure
-- Rest
For all the classes it means race home, change, feed dogs, go to class, race home, change, go to flyball.
I did the stair routine this morning and felt good, but now I'm feeling tired and headachy. I have completed four up and downs today; three in a row this morning and just one this afternoon.0 -
Had nia class today went for long walk yesterday.0
