Optional Mini-Challenge: Week 2

Pick one, two, or all three challenges. Remember: these challenges are optional. Not completing them will have no effect on whether or not you win the UAC.
Physical: Do ONLY exercises that you *love* to do. If you hate lifting weights, don't lift weights this week. If you hate going for walks, don't do it. If the only thing you love--I mean really *love*--to do is rock out to Pitbull, then that's what you're going to do for exercise this week.
Mental: List everything you like about your body. Let's see who can come up with the longest list.
Diet: Every day this week, set your calorie budget to something ridiculously high (say, 10,000). Instead of worrying about calories this week, eat intuitively. This means: eat only when you're hungry, eat slowly, and pay close attention to your satiety signals (i.e., stop eating when you feel satisfied).

Awesome challenge! It's great to share this journey together with you, Caradae!
I'm in.
And here's a P.S. from last week's mini challenge. I didn't choose the jumping jacks challenge, because my knees don't like it. BUT, after doing more of the HAES challenge, I found that the site recommends some fitness videos by Bliss. I checked on YouTube and found this short clip of Bliss demonstrating low-impact jumping jacks for ALL sizes! Yay!!!!

Mental: Everything I love about my body
1. My legs are strong and I can walk walk walk!
2. My endurance is strong and I can walk walk walk!
3. My face structure is changing with peri-menopause, changing from round to having more contours. I find it beautiful to see my "new" face evolving
4. I still have all my teeth (even if I lost two in dreams . . . )
5. My hands are capable. I am dexterous and can use tools, draw, paint, play musical instruments. I love my hands!
6. My lungs are strong. I can sing and play wind instruments
7. My brain functions! I can think, analyze, read, write, talk, converse
8. My body is pain free (if I don't move my hip the wrong way)
9. My body is as free of chemicals as I can have it be, given our environment and society
10. My body is nicotene free!
11. I love that my body is drug free. A few years ago my blood pressure improved through exercise and I got to stop taking blood pressure meds!!!!
12. I love that my back is strong. I carry a hefty backpack of books to school, walking a couple of miles a day (on school days).
13. I love that my body can kneel. The other day it was warm out, and I kneeled on a foam pad and dug my hands into the cool black earth and harvested potatoes from last season!
14. I love that my feet are not deformed by pointy shoes!
15. I love that my feet have heeled (healed) themselves of past issues -- ganglion cysts on the ankle and plantar fascaitis. All better! Yay feet and ankles!
16. I love that my organs are all functioning.
17. I love that my eyes can see, even if I use glasses for reading
18. I love that my ears can hear: bird's songs, breezes in the trees, music, a lover's whisper
19. I love my voice. It can be heard, even if people don't want to listen to it.
20. I love my belly, holder of my emotions, birther of my dreams
21. I love articulations that bed and rotate and let me move around
22. I love my digestive system for its patient hard work
23. I love my heart that keeps beating, no matter what
24. I love my sexual and spiritual power, what the indigenous Andean women for centuries or millenia have called "supay"
25. I love my neck and shoulders, that patiently hold my worries until I'm ready to release them
to be continued . . .0 -

I pretty much already do the first challenge. My main workout is swimming, which is my life. I swear that I would die from chlorine withdrawal.
What I love about my body-
I'm flexible.
I have slightly defined abs.
Great endurance.
High-ish pain tolerance.
Strong legs.
Slim arms.
Large hands.
Small breasts lol.
Tall.
Boney hips.
Slightly visible rib cage.
Strong, stable build.
Swimmers build.
Awesome collar bone.
Tans easily.
Lol I don't know.0 -
Another great challenge Caradae!! It's gonna be really interesting to see what people have to say.
:flowerforyou: Hope everyone has a GREAT week!!0 -
Body Challenge: Things I Like About My Body
I have such strong legs I could walk all day. And I love to walk!
My biceps actually are kind of defined (thanks to my aquatic fitness class and strength training class)
I think my hair looks good even though it's going grey. I like the salt-and-pepper look.
Exercise Challenge: Hmmm... I already do exercise I really like, so no problem there.
Calorie Challenge: Are you kidding? I'd probably end up eating 10,000 every day this week! As my 17-year-old would say, "Swerve to that one."0 -

Wow, garza! Way to go! I love, love, love this.
I totally relate to #3. There's a lot I struggle to aesthetically appreciate about my body at its current size. My face is one thing I really like at this weight.

What I like about my body:
Garza's list plus:
1. I love that my body gets me from point A to point B.
2. I love that my body produced my son.
3. I love that my body produced my daughter.
4. I love that my husband thinks I'm attractive.
5. I love my dumpy body: Although there are some days I wish I looked like I did at age 18, most days I'm happy to be able to go for a walk without anyone honking at me or shouting lewd remarks as they speed by.
6. I love the potential to surprise people and to shake up preconceived notions that my 212-lb. body affords me.
7. I love that my body is hour glass shaped. No matter how much weight I gain, my waist is always comparatively small.
8. I like my big butt, and I cannot lie.
9. I love that I have perfect vision.
10. I love watching my nail grow back. It's amazing!
11. I love my ridiculously extra wide feet and their contributions to my not falling over.
12. I love that my leg hairs have stopped growing super fast and I only have to shave once a week now.0 -

Quoting myself--
Calorie Challenge: Are you kidding? I'd probably end up eating 10,000 every day this week! As my 17-year-old would say, "Swerve to that one."
So, even though I specifically said I wouldn't try the high-calorie, eat-until-you're-satisfied challenge, yesterday I did try it. I wound up eating about 1.5 times as many calories as my usual limit. But also, I confirmed that I have a real taste for fatty, salty food! It actually left me a bit queasy at one point. I think for me it's better to have a limit, at least for now. Maybe some day I'll be mature enough to just listen to my body or whatever, but not yet.0 -

"Country girl calves" are just big calves that stay big even if you are a small person....LOL!!! Looks like I have been climbing mountains all my life....LOL!!!0
