Since I have not bought a scale yet, I was surprised to learn that I was doing very well at this point. I knew I had lost some weight, but had not idea how much. My clothes were just looser.
I don't want to become obsessed with weighing myself, but I think I can do it once a week now. My NUT says I should stay on pureed foods and crisp dry toast for another week. Although she said I can go up to 800 calories a day as long as I get my protein and water in. Protein not a problem (usually have 80 g), water has been more difficult as my taste and love for it have changed 360 degreesl:happy:

Doing well. If your water tastes have changed try adding some flavor; lemon or lime juice is great. I also like the Crystal Light sugar free packets. Box says 1 packet per 16 oz but I prefer 1:32oz (less sweet). Whatever it takes to getthe fluids in - very important.0

That's great news! Water can be tough. Prior to surgery I had to have it iced. Now my tummy doesn't like it that cold. I also never really drank flavored water, but since surgery I've found that plain water seems to make me really, really hungry. I'm 2.5 years out and this started about a year after surgery. I found Sparkling Ice, a flavored water with zero calories and zero sodium (really important!). It is carbonated and my tummy doesn't like carbonation, so I sip a little, shake and vent until all the carbonation is gone. This stuff really tastes great. You can buy it at Walmart and Sam's Club. I think Costco might have it too.
Good luck and keep up the good work!!0 -

Thank you al for the words of encouragement and suggestions for drinking water. All of you have a good weekend. I'm off in the a.m. to visit "Bear" (my grandson) and his parents in Naperville, IL. Haven't seen since Christmas and have really missed them.
This will be the first time I will have to pack enough of the food I eat and my magic bullet to blend with. The first test of my resolve. They have a gym membership and I'm going to see if they can get guest passes so I can exercise at least 2 or 3 times.

Yadira, your stomach is likely still swollen from the surgery. Just sip all day, slowly. capful size sips...it will get better0

Yes, we were told that we should drink everything at room temp, as too warm or cold causes stomach problems. I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks post-surgery, then move in stages until I get to foods I will eat the rest of my life. I am still on the pureed foods and hope to start the next phase this weekend.
If you are still experiencing this type of pain at your 2-week post-op Dr. appointment, please let them know. DId you get any medication for cramping - if so, try it and see if it works.
Remember, you can only get a couple of ounces down at this stage and that should be over a 15-20 minute time period. Keep us updated on how you are feeling. It will get much better, believe me.
