Hi!
Today I have a meet up with a friend arranged and will have lil girl with me, into the afternoon (DH will pick son up from school, etc), so I won't get to the gym in the afternoon. I'll have to wait and see how late it goes whether I can get home and eat and change and get back out for gym or run and back before our evening schedule begins. It seems since I started to commit to working out, added to my other responsibilities with the kids, I don't see many of my friends often (well, EVER) and I really have to change that b/c it's been way too long in most cases. This particular friend lives near where I sometimes run. She won't start running, but maybe I could talk her into starting to walk from time to time. That'd be nice.
Will check back in later.0 -
I hope you get your friend out walking with you. I try to do that with my sisters when I'm up at my mother's house and they are there too. It's been a lot of fun, walking (or running) and talking.
I didn't do much on Monday as I went home with a pretty bad headache. Then, I didn't feel well yesterday. Went to work. Came back. There was an accident on the road on the way home and so my ~20 minute drive took closer to an hour. I did the needed chores and then read and rested, so got in little exercise compared to my normal days.
Hopefully today will be better. I have the Metabolic Conditioning class at 6 pm. I'd like to run to and from it again, but the weather people are talking rain and it's colder than last week. I think that I'll risk it if I'm sure the temps will stay above freezing.
Hope you're feeling better, Laura.
Hope to hear from more of the other members here, too. I think that a lot of us are in a bit of a slump as far as exercise, due to illness and life pressures. Really looking forward to Spring!0 -
Yeah we've lost several of our regular posters!
I very enthusiastically said I was feeling better this morning, and that may have been hasty. I'm at work, but I can't say I feel awesome. Today it's mostly sinus related though - facial pressure & congestion and a sore throat. I was tentatively scheduled to walk with a friend and I bumped her back to tomorrow. Planning on going to my session with Jason tonight (because he's going on vacation so I won't see him again until Wednesday next week) but might hold off on doing my run until tomorrow too. Since I won't be seeing Jason after work tomorrow as usual, maybe I can get outside for a run. Supposed to get up to 38 degrees and then get cold again for the weekend.0 -
Hi, already wrote this once and iPad went off line...so here on desktop!
I was in Canada with no wifi and the few times I had it just checked email and where we were going.
Had a pretty good time, no exercise as husbands back was hurting, only walked a bit. We did go to parade, aquarium, pubs, etc for St Pat's.
Going for long walk soon, gym tomorrow.0 -
So checking back in to tell y'all how exhausting today was, but saw Marla's awesome St. Patty's day picture and that really cheered me up! Yeah, today was downright hot and catching up with a friend in between the rapidfire questioning of a 3yo was mentally challenging. Carrying her around the marina and park and half the busride home and most of the walk home was physically exhausting. I had a nice long meetup, but DH and I were both exhausted by evening. He didn't take son to the tutor (thinking he'd do the homework with him), but since it was math, I ended up getting involved too (they are reviewing/testing for grade reports, so it's alot). Anyway, even let son skip taekwon-do so we could all rest. No exercise for me today, no way. I'm ready to hit the bed.
Oh, but did break-in my new shoes (figured best to do it walking) and they felt great. Can't wait to take them for a run. Was also happy to see my friend show up in workout clothes from her morning workout class, so walking was "on" today (even if I did have to carry lil girl for part of it).
So,now putting my feet up and will see y'all tomorrow.
Hope to see some more members posting soon too.
Laura, hope you feel better.0 -
Sherry that sounds exhausting. Glad you're liking your new shoes though!
Marla nice to see you again! Your Canada trip sounds like fun.
I got my run in just because I wanted to get it over with. I sweat way more than is natural and my heart rate was higher than usual even though I was going pretty slow. And my left shin kept cramping (I did not know until tonight that a shin could cramp). But I gutted it out for my 3 miles and am happy to have it over with. I'm hoping I I sweat out the last of the sickness from my body. I did my hip exercises, then had a legs/abs workout with Jason.0 -
Glad it made you feel better!!! As you could tell by photo I had a lot of wine in me by then!! lol0
