Exercises to strengthen knee

What are some exercises - stretches, resistance band or weights exercises that will strengthen up the knee area to make you less prone to running injuries??

I have patellofemural syndome so I do a variety of leg and core exercises:
1) Resistance band: walk to the side in a light squat position, clam shells
2) Medicine Ball: Single leg squat with the ball on the wall
3) Foam roller: Core work, so lying on my back on the foam roller, I let my legs drop to the side, and extend forward one leg at a time. I also use the roller to work on the tissue in my quads, IT band, glutes, hanmstrings.0
