I know the feeling. I eat the same thing 80% of the time so I don't need to plan out my meals every day. I leave the other 20% open for cheat meals and cravings where I can't control the calories.
I'm nearly at my goal weight. I can push through it for a while longer.0 -
There are lots of yummy foods to eat. Avocados, nuts, chicken salad, shrimp salad, low fat cheeses, fresh fruit salad, dark chocolate. Be creative0

You seem really fit so I am sure you actually could teach me quite a lot! However here are my two cents on this: Whenever I find myself in a rot and I'm bored by the food I eat, I look for healthy recopies online. Some places I love for recipe ideas:

Even the famous Chef John from Foodwishes has some healthy stuff by now:

I never finished my post lol. That's what kids do for ya. Interruptions lol. Anyway I am so lost with my diet. I used to do well eating balanced diet. Then I read too much confused myself. Intermitting fasting, fighter diets, high protein, low carb. I feel confused ugh. I need to go back to simple. Calories in vs calories out. I also wish for about a month there would be no junk food in my house. I would detox From it and wouldn't be tempted to eat high calorie foods. My family sabotages my efforts unwittingly. Or I wish I had greater willpower.0

Haha, ooops. I do get what you are saying, tho! Sometimes I am confused what to do, too! Paleo, vegan, fasting, juicing, cheat-day/no cheat-day, 6 meals/day, 3 meals… Oh boy
Personally I try to do what works best for me. What makes me feel best? And that's nothing crazy. I just think about what I REALLY want and never eliminate a food-group completely! So I decided I will stick with a healthy diet, that is as balanced as I can make it. For me that means incorporating veg, fruit, legumes, nuts, seeds, milk and eggs. You could add meat. I make food that is paleo, vegan, mono, raw, low-carb etc. But I follow non of the above to a t because that would lead to one big binge… I have done it in the past and it wasn't pretty.
Obviously you already know what works for you (a well-balanced diet). Try to make some "healthy junk-food" for your family. Key is that it doesn't taste "good for the fact that it is healthy". Make it really tasty. Even for people who don't care about the calorie content. Maybe your family will be convinced to switch to the healthier version then. And then you won't feel bad about the fact that you indulge 20% of the time and be good the rest of the time. Since you are probably in maintenance it shouldn't mess too much with your body!
