Are Spices Raw?

Spices are dried, but not cooked (unless that's how the big companies do it now). Can they be considered raw? I was thinking of adding nutmeg and/or cinnamon to my smoothies.

Spices are something that I personally don't worry about being raw. I find that I only really need to add them if I'm eating cooked food apart from some basil on things like tomato or zucchini pasta. It's not something huge that I think would effect the level of rawness that a lot of people are worried about in the movement :)

For those that follow 80/10/10 or Natural Hygeine to a tee then spices and herbs culinary or medicinal are not part of the lifestyle. I tend to avoid them for the most part because of the reasons the same reasons they do.
