Starting the program anew..

I had downloaded the app for my phone and began the C25K plan late last summer. Aug 1 my town got hit with a severe flood and I lost my home. Was displaced for a time and trying to finish college.. needless to say, I lost track of the running plan. I'm blessed to finally be settled into a new place to live and graduated college. I'm ready to give it another try. Looking for friends who are planning to start the plan soon, for motivation and encouragement.. :)

I'm sorry about your home. I'm glad you are finally settled. Welcome back! Go for it. I'm sure you'll find a lot of friends once you start posting in the daily check in thread. I was too intimated to post because I was afraid of not completing the program. When I did post queries here I got great suggestions and massive amounts of support.
    Good Luck.

I downloaded the app, and I'm planning to start either today or tomorrow, late case Sunday. I've never been able to stick to a program before, because I have the attention span of a gnat when it comes to workouts. I love working out, but I can't do the same workout for more than 2 days at a time, which means I can't do things like 30 day shred or P90x3. I hope I can stick with c25k. 3 days a week seems like it might work, if I can do whatever I want on the other 4 days. I'm in. Fingers crossed.

Did C25K last year and completed a 5k run at the end of Feb'13.. Then did nothing!!

So started from scratch again yesterday! Found it quite easy - though I think the memory of my first week last time made me think it was going to be hell.. I've also remembered to SLOW DOWN.. I'm so bad at pacing I usually take off like I'm running for my life and 30 seconds in I'm pooped... Took it slow and easy and found it really enjoyable.

Hopefully this time I'll enjoy the process more. And once I get running 5k, I'll keep it up and try to improve my times.

I'll pop in here to update !!

Best of luck on your C25K journey. Its a great feeling when you realise you can run 5k.. Just hang onto the feeling and keep it going!!

I sort of started on Monday, I had no app on my phone so I did my own programme of 4 mins walk warm up then 5 x 2 min runs/2 min walk and approx. 4 min cool down. I managed this ok so I was thinking of skipping straight to W2D2 of the Zen Lab Couch to 5K which would be 5 min walk then 1.5 min run/2 min walk for 20 mins.

It's sort of similar to what I did Monday but would I be better to just do W1 first?

Legs a bit sore today from Monday night but I haven't exercised in so long so it's not surprising. I'm heading out again this evening and looking forward to it :)

Solly123, i'm not really good at pacing myself either. I think I need to slow down a bit on the run, for some reason I can't run slow.
