Tuesday is my weigh-in day. Might not be the same for you . . . but, keeping me accountable, here goes:
SW: 156
LW: 137
TW: 136 (loss of 1 lb.)
I'll take it! My goals this week are to continue with advance meal prep, be in calorie deficit every day, and to up the intensity of my workouts. Also, I have a busy week ahead and I need to practice staying focused even when I'm busy and distracted. I'm thinking the best strategy is advance planning. Please share your ideas
Have a great week!

You're not alone, Sheesh! My weigh-in day is now Tuesday, too. I meant to log yesterday, but my client was still calling at 7 p.m. last night. I'm glad to hear that you can remember the stresses of juggling a demanding job along with everything else that needs to be done. Some days, I do better than others. Oddly, on weekend days when I'm less busy, I sometimes do worse (emotionally) than I do on work days. Take away my structure, and the anxiety creeps in.
I'm still maintaining at the higher, undesirable weight.

My focus this week is going to be on intake. Although I'm struggling to get in activity, a trainer I know (but have never worked with) assures me that intake is the key. She recently had knee surgery and found that she could maintain her weight even with almost no physical activity--provided she was vigilant with intake. She said this particularly means not going long periods of time without eating something. When my work takes off as it has since the first of the year, I fall into that old pattern of skipping meals and snacks. So my focus this week will be eating regularly and having some healthy snacks on hand. I did great last night until hubby sat down beside me with some Ben & Jerry's. I was legitimately hungry (had an earlier light dinner), but I didn't need to eat that. Blew me 200 calories over my goal.0 -

HHMMM...Ah well. I thought I did well considering the ridiculous amount of food we had available..especially the desserts. I did opt to eat well at mealtime and was fortunately still too full to partake of too much dessert (even though I was the maker/baker of most of them).
I'm falling into Sarah's world where work is overtaking training. I'm still assisting in another area and unfortuantely, I can't walk out of a meeting with a customer at 4:55 to go change for my workout. Last week we were with them until after 7 and I was here last night until 7. We have a customer scheduled for 2 today, so I'm hoping we get her in and out of here in an hour. They are designing their new homes of 3-6k sq. feet..so it's time consuming (I'm the paperwork filler outer...haha).
Ah well, time for the sales meeting. Will check back
SHeesh - GREAT job on your reduction!!
Sarah - stay focused
my goal this week is intake control...again.0 -
Hello, all,
So sorry Lois to hear that your work is gobbling you up, too. Last night, for the second day in a row, my client called at 6 p.m. and kept me on the line until after 7 p.m. My core hours are 9 to 5:30. Although I often work to 7 p.m., clients are supposed to call contractors after core hours only when it's absolutely necessary. In this case, the call wasn't necessary--the client just wanted to work when she wanted to work!
Anyway, it put me behind with heading out to walk, and about a third of the way through my route, I saw a big burst of lightening and heard a loud clap of thunder, so I headed home quickly. It was too late to go to the mall, so I ended up watching the Nats game. Not exactly a way to burn calories unless a raised heartbeat due to anxiety counts! (We did win however, in an exciting turnaround in the 9th inning.)
Just wanted to check in while I was logging food. I am trying to do that a couple of times daily. Last week, I really fell down on the job with keeping track of intake. Are you guys seeing Light on Fitbit?0 -
I'm here... don't know when my last weigh in was but I know I missed at least one. Sorry. Life and work have been pretty much all consuming, have a lot of personal stresses going on right now and just haven't been able to make it to posting. Not getting in exercise and not getting my foods logged. I know I need to do better and I'm hoping that there will be some resolutions to things in the not so distant future. I'm really sorry not to have been a better participant... and I'll share with all of you when I am able but I'm struggling just to get from day to day on a couple of the issues. I'm fine, it's all external stressors... and it leaves me exhausted and not sleeping well, which only adds to the exhaustion.
weight- well, I'm bouncing between 176-180, up one day, down the next, then back up again. Had too much Easter candy, and that is my fault. Someone found some malted milk balls that had no chocolate and I had a small feast on them (love those things and haven't had them in years because the chocolate gives me heart irregularities). My steps are down (sitting most of the day at work and then getting home late enough to just take care of the chickens and fall into bed) but there were a few times I was able to grab a walk during my lunch break.
Every time I think I'm going to catch a break and get restarted over here, something else happens. For example, I spent the weekend dealing with a washer problem. I decided to hold off on doing my laundry Friday morning, which turned out to be a VERY good thing since my flood would have happened without my knowing about it until I got back home again that night but basically, I put the laundry in, turned it on and came to the computer to log in. Well, I heard it fill but when it was supposed to agitate, it was quiet other than some strange water sounds... which turned out to be water pouring out from the bottom of the washer. Oh my.... it was coming out faster than I could deal with it. I used every towel in the house except the one I wanted for Saturday's shower and spent hours wringing the towels out into a dishpan over and over until about 2am. Needless to say, Saturday was spent lining up another washer to be delivered on Tuesday. I should get some steps in while waiting for them to arrive, LOL
Have to take the day off since they couldn't narrow down the delivery time. I dried some of the towels outside over chairs yesterday and have some of them hanging outside to dry today. I'll wash them and my laundry on Tues after the new washer arrives. What a weekend. Not at all restful and no housework got done other than the utility room floor, LOL.
So, that is a little glimpse into one of the dramas that has kept me off line. Lots of work but not many steps and not sure how many calories it burned either, LOL0 -
Light, it's so good hear from you, and don't feel alone! Hubby managed to ruin our stove a little over a week ago. The man actually thought that you could pop out the oven elements like you could do with electric burners. He was trying to clean up a mess he made in the bottom of the oven and thought it would be much easier if he just pulled out the heating element! Well it's hardwired and 220 current came in, burning out the entire stove, but luckily not electrocuting him. Fast forward a few days, and we discovered water in the basement, coming from a plugged drain somewhere between our floor drain and the manhole in the street. We found that when doing laundry late on a Sunday night. Fortunately, having a plug between your house and the street is much less costly than having to snake out interior pipes.
But, we've done the appliance shopping and delivery thing, and the mopping up water thing recently, too. Having a wet-dry vac did save me from the towel routine, but you must have burned a lot of calories wringing out those towels!
We had a glorious weekend here, but we had to postpone some plans to get out and about because Hubby's back was giving him a fit. He spent most of the weekend prone on a heating pad. Now rain is coming in for most of the week. That means mall walking in the evening, but at least I have that for a while longer anyway.0
